Orthodox6
I thought that all children like an ice cream pie! Slightly soften their favorite ice cream and pack it into a readymade cookie pie crust. Re-freeze and serve. Decorate the circumference with whipped cream and tiny candies if you want a more elaborate mess.
Orthodox6
Maybe easier to make during the summer months; however, don't forget about going outside to make mud pies!

MrsMommy
I've recently perfected my French Silk pie recipe...it's so good! Everyone likes chocolate, right? Here are some of our other favorite pies. And if you want to be really creative, how about a Chicago-style pizza pie for the main course? Ali in OR
My old roommate is a math teacher and their department hosts a Pi day party for the rest of the faculty at the high school. They do pizza pie and dessert pies.
plansrme
I don't understand this. Who doesn't like pie again? Your kids? What did you do to them??? Someone needs to work on her pie-making skills is what I think. Everyone likes SOME kind of pie. Well, every right-thinking someone. Um_2_4
cookie pie? Make a cookie crust base in a pizza pan and top with goodies (frosting, choc chips, sprinkles, maraschino cherries) Moon pies? pizza pie? cheesecake "pie" (like those easy no bake ones, though that is not really cheesecake, in my family we call that cheesecake pie)? Tammi K
I can't help you with March 13, however, I always make a pineapple upside down cake on July 22 since I figure it's an approximation of pi.

umsami
What about Missippi Mud Pie (Oreo crust, coffee ice cream and whipped cream?) Or chicken pot pie? Or little fried hand pies? Or crack pie! Or chocolate chess pie? I'm not a big fan of fruit pies, but I more than make up for it with other varieties. :)
Kerileanne99
Last year I did pasties (or 'hand pies') in the Cornish pasty style. We are vegetarian so have out own favorites, but here is a link with some different styles. Just about every culture has their own: pasties, empanadas, pierogis, etc., and they can be savory or sweet. http://www.marthastewart.com/1058976/savory-hand-pies
Cinder
Agreeing on the ice cream pie. I thought everyone loved those. Unless your dc don't like ice cream. A friend of mine makes one with a chocolate cookie crust (she just buys Keebler premade), chocolate ice cream, raspberry sorbet and hot fudge sauce on top. Sometimes she sprinkles brownie crumbs on top. :drool5:
craftymama
Pizza pie Mississippi Mud Pie Chicken Pot Pie Ice Cream Pie Strawberry Shortcake Pie My husband's aunt used to make chocolate pie that was really just a store bought graham cracker pie crust filled with instant pudding. You could do the same thing as a sundae pie - store bought crust with ice cream and whipped cream and whatever topping you wanted.

ikslo
Someone needs to work on her pie-making skills is what I think. We're homeschoolers. Shouldn't the KIDS be making the pie? DS8 made a superb pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving, and he even made the crust from scratch. Yep, I think DS has definitely been nominated to make the Pi Day pie. He just doesn't know it yet. ETA: Oh, yeah, I forgot some on this board are afterschoolers. But still - it's a good skill to learn early. :)
