You guys!!! I just got the BEST phone call!! After 2.5 years, we get to remove Logan's feeding tube!!!!! This tube has had a staph infection in if for almost that whole time. It has been horribly painful and bleeds every day. He is FINALLY eating well enough to take it out! Oh what a WONDERFUL feeling!!! I will be taking it out after I go to Target and get gauze and tape....the hole in his tummy will remain open for about a month (BLECK!) But it has been a LONG 2.5 years....PRAISE THE LORD!!! Thanks for sharing in my excitement!

Thanks...he has had a history of aspirating and his esophagus swelling shut. There are a LOT of other little things that went into it, but those were the main issues......I forget that you guys dont' know all about me ;)

I have a good friend who had a little boy with this problem. It went on for years...many surgeries! Dilations, feeding tubes...on and on! Just knowing that your situation is like hers tells me your family and especially that little boy has been through a LOT! :grouphug:

(I think part of the problem they had was all the scar tissue.

They FINALLY found a doctor that tried something different that corrected the problem and he has been fine now for years. If you feel you need to speak with a mom that has been through this and could possible give you some information let me know and I could put her in touch with you.)

I'm so glad that feeding tube is coming out and wish your son continued good health!!!!

:party:BTDT!! I'm so excited for you! My little guy had his first tube (ng) at 2 months, his mic key at 8 months and finally got it out last year at 2.5years of age after months of agonizing over every.single.bite.he.took. :grouphug::grouphug: Watch for drainage-we had to have a minor surgery to stitch the hole closed. This is a common problem for long term feeding tubes (more than 9 months, I think?). Best wishes!!
