Amira
I'm leaving for the store in a couple of minutes and need an idea. I don't think they sell ready-made dips here, so I need a quick recipe if anyone has one.
Gil
My mother makes Salmon dip--I love that stuff. I don't know how involved it is to make, but its super delicious and I know that my mom makes it in about 10 minutes (she can have it ready by the time I get there if I ask her to make it when I am leaving the school.) magnificent_baby
My personal favorite is a brick of cream cheese and jalapeno jelly spread on top.
zoobie
Old-fashioned cheese ball? I add onion powder, garlic powder, dried parsley, dried chives (you can use fresh but make sure they're really dry after washing or it seems slimy), etc. along with shredded cheddar. Roll in crushed pecans or almond pieces.
Amira
Thanks!
PeterPan
Yup, cheeseball. My MIL uses the Kahlua cheese stuff that comes in tubs in the deli section. I use Cracker Barrel cheese, the stuff in short logs that is stupid expensive but very tasty.
Mom in High Heels
A block of cream cheese with salsa poured over it. Basic and pretty good!
nmoira
A block of cream cheese with salsa poured over it. Basic and pretty good! Or jalapeño jam. Mmmmmmmmm.

cjthedog64
My husband likes to spread cream cheese on a platter, lightly spread cocktail says on that, and scatter flaked imitation crab over the top. You scoop it up with Town House style crackers.
umsami
My friend's mom used to serve a block with this stuff called "Pick-a-Pepper" sauce on it. I like it with red pepper jelly on top. But honestly…. there are no bad ways to serve cream cheese. :)
Moxie
Fried pound of sausage, 2 blocks of cream cheese, one can of Rotel. Heat through. Amazing!!
Ravin
Brick of cream cheese on bowl, dump salsa on top. Voila!
Mandylubug
We like to blend fresh garlic, minced onion (wee bit) and a freshly chopped jalepeno, a couple tablespoons sour cream and a block of cream cheese. Oh and salt. It is really good!
Gil
This is a Salmon dip similar to what my mom makes.
Truscifi
Just the block with Pick-a-pepper sauce. Or Frank's Sweet Chili sauce if you can't find the other. Apparently Pick-a-Pepper is regional.
Acadie
Similar to the salsa idea--put a brick of cream cheese in bowl, then dump pesto on top. Easiest appetizer ever, delicious, gorgeous green and white. Serve w/knife and crackers. Amy
KungFuPanda
Smoked salmon?
PeachyDoodle
Chop up green olives (the kind with pimientos in them) and mix with cream cheese. Delish and easy (and also great for Christmas because of the colors!).
umsami
Chop up green olives (the kind with pimientos in them) and mix with cream cheese. Delish and easy (and also great for Christmas because of the colors!). My Mom used to make me cream cheese/olive sandwiches as a kid. You just reminded me of them, so I'm going to have to add cream cheese and olives to the shopping list for the week. Thanks. :)
JeneralMom
We always did chutney spread over cream cheese.

We only make cream cheese and olives about twice a year because I could sit and eat the whole thing by myself! :D
AmandaVT
Hot red pepper jelly used to be my favorite over cream cheese, but now I like to do cream cheese, top with a jar of newman's mango salsa and then shredded cheddar. Bake or micro until top cheese melts a bit and cream cheese is warmed. So good. We serve with crackers or multigrain tostitos.
littlebug42
For a sweet alternative, cream cheese, vanilla instant pudding and a can of crushed pineapple, served with graham crackers. Yummy.
Kareni
We always did chutney spread over cream cheese. I was going to suggest the same. Regards, Kareni
