dirty ethel rackham Posted March 8, 2014 Share Posted March 8, 2014 We laid to rest dh's dear aunt - who was like a mother to him. It was a lovely mass. The priest despite not knowing her as she had moved away - this was at the church where she was baptized and raised - gave a wonderful homily. It was nice to see so many relatives. We made plans to learn how to make potica (a traditional Slovenian pastry that dh's aunt used to make.) However, it was so sad that dh's sister didn't bother to say hello to anyone in the family - she showed up for the mass and left right afterwards. I'm pleased that the family challenges with your SIL were manageable enough that the grieving process for everyone was only minimally effected by the friction. I'm glad she came.
