AimeeM
There was a huge group of us. All of a sudden kids were screaming, stripping in the street. Our middle son took the biggest hit. He has several stings; our eldest had a couple, while our babe didn't get any (he was in the street with us). Somebody must have stirred a nest. Kids have benedryl, dad checked them over in the bath. Nobody seems to be having an allergic reaction as yet. We won't forget this Halloween. It was like a scene out of a horror movie - kids were screaming that "something was inside them" (i.e. the bees were in their costumes). maize
Yikes! That sounds more like wasps than bees to me? They will attack en masse if they fill threatened.
AimeeM
Yikes! That sounds more like wasps than bees to me? They will attack en masse if they fill threatened. Thought so - but we killed a couple and they are yellow with stripes.

Flowing Brook
Your poor kids. I keep bees any time I get stung I take a bath in baking soda and salt. The next day I don't know I've been stung.

Annie
Augh! Poor kids! I'm glad they're doing ok. My sister had a bunch of wasps fly up her pant leg this summer, and she ended up with over a dozen stings. No fun at all.
