I traded that in for a brand new 1995 metallic blue Ford Probe. I drove that for 4 years until ds8 was born and we went all practical. Sunny
Hmmm... I will try to remember all of them <g>. I had a car fettish until kids. 1. In HS I bought a Ford Pinto. 2. As soon as I graduated and got a better job, I bought a classic BMW 2002. FUN car, and got the looks too. 3. Bought a VW bus, just for the fun of it, to carry around my wares to swap meets. 4. Graduated College and sold the BMW for a brand new Saab 900. 5. Quit my job, sold the Saab and bought a yamaha scooter. 6. Finally ready to get back into the real world, and bought a Mazda Miata convertible. VERY fun car for that time of life. I'm almost ready to wish for another convertible. 7. Got married and then pregnant so the Miata went and I got a VOLVO wagon. Had that for many years and my days of swapping cars ended.
Karenciavo
1979 Red Toyota Celica hatchback 5 speed (first car, purchased in 1984) 1987 Pewter Nissan Maxima 5 speed (purchased brand new) I loved this car, had it till we had three children in 2002. The car would talk and my older kids loved it (fuel level is low, right door is open, etc.)
milovany
My first car was the 1973 Mercury Capri (red). I purchased it for my senior year and had a great time with that car. Well, right now there's a car for sale in the 'hood: a 1993 Mercury Capri (red) ... CONVERTIBLE!! I rilly, rilly want to buy it. DH and I test drove it awhile ago and dh didn't like how ... vulnerable ... we felt, what with being used to the Suburban. But the Suburban is our only vehicle and *I* think we ought to have a run-around-town car that gets better gas mileage, don't you?? ;)
NicksMama-Zack's Mama Too
1970 something Pinto Station Wagon, brown with wooden accents (gift from my stepfather, he paid $50 for it) 1969 Karman Ghia - Blue, with rusted out heater boxes. Semi-auto. Bought it because my bf at the time said he could keep in running. He didn't, so I left him for a Honda guy....kinda kidding... 1979 Honda Civic (Green, 1200 Hatchback). Heat worked just fine. So did boyfriend who kept it running and he's now my dh....Dh had a matching white one that he tricked out - weren't we cute! Carpooled in it. Please imagine me and 3 co-workers, who all were into powerlifting and weighed in all over 200 lbs, in a 79 Civic. They had great attitudes about it. 1983 Honda Accord: LOVED this car. Commuted in it. Drove so smoothly with 120K miles on it. Sold it. 1986 Civic Sedan: Automatic, grandma car. Commuted in it. Sold it to make room for 92 Civic. Dh had a Honda Hurricane 1000cc motorcycle. Was promptly sold when we got pregnant. Current vehicles: 92 Honda Civic, 03 CRV (from MIL), 89 Accord (dh commuter), and an '03 Dodge Diesel Truck (grunt, grunt, grunt).

Joanne
Pontiac Sunbird, my first car, used. Loved it. My first new car, Ford Escort. Served me well during those years I abused life and neglected basic car care. After getting sober and getting decent work, just before marriage to kids' Dad: Honda Del Sol (2 seated, removable sun roof). Red with a spoiler and black leather bra. Sweet. It was the first year they had them. I got pregnant the next year.
Jami
1982 AMC Concord--maroon (it had been my grandfather's), drove it for high school and first two years of college. That thing was a tank and is still alive well over 200,000 miles. 1994 Hyundai Excel--aqua/turquoise shade. Our first car as a married couple. Also the car I learned to drive stick on. 1997 Saturn SL1--red. The necessary 4 door after adding in the first baby and the second shortly thereafter. We outgrew it for a minivan shortly thereafter. EarleneW
My parents gave me my moms old 1982 Olds Cutless when I got my liscence in 91. A few weeks later someone hit me so I drove it for almost a year with the ps smashed in. My senior year a got a 91 Plymouth Sundance. Traded it for a 94 Eclipse that my friend totalled about 6 months later. I then got a 94 Honda Accord that I had almost until my 2nd child was born. Jennifer in MI
None!! I didn't own a car before kids! I lived downtown Boston and didn't need a car. Then, I got married and dh owned a Honda Civic hatchback. We had our ds and his carseat wouldn't fit comfortably in the back seat. So, he bought a Volvo stationwagon. We owned that car until I bought my 2000 Chevy Venture in 2000. We still own that car!
nukeswife
My first car was a rust colored (not rusty just rust orange in color) 1980 Chevy Citation. Most don't even know what that is, but it looks like a oversized chevette. Then I had a 80 something Chrysler Lebaron that had door stops shoved in all but the driver's side front window to keep them up. My dad insisted this was a step up from the citation, I didn't think so as it would also get stuck in park any time you parked on the slightest hill. Next came an 84 Pontiac Grand Am. Which was really nice and ran like a champ. After that finally went belly up I got a 90 something Geo Metro. Looked like a little shoe but got great gas milage. My dad drove it once and said it was like driving a Go-Kart. What did he expect from a 3 cylinder engine, and indy 500 race car? LOL Then my last car before getting married was a Hyundai Accent, which my mom dubbed the Hyundai rocket ship as she got it up to quite some speed when we were on our vacation to florida. After getting married my DH took that car and gave me his Ford Explorer to drive. I loved that truck but we traded it in on a minivan when child #2 came, boy was that a bad idea. The minivan (a ford windstar) was like trying to drive a toboggan in the winter, it had no traction control.

Then a few years later, we replaced the Colt with a minivan which I drove while dh drove the Sable.
PineFarmMom
In this order, from age 16-25: 1976 red Chevrolet Corvette with t-tops (the best of all of my cars...ever!) 1982 red Pulsar?? I think (the worst of all of my cars) 1988 blue Dodge Daytona 1993 green Ford crew-cab pickup Then I had children and I actually, slowly quit caring what kind of car I drove, just that it would carry us all. Sue G in PA
I had an '84 Chevy Cavalier (bright blue) in high school after driving around my parent's station wagon for a year. You know the kind...the cream colored w/ wood grain trim? Ugh. In college, I had an aqua green Geo Prism (forget the year). I LOVED that car. I MISS that car. I had it when I got married and until we had to trade it in for a mini-van. :glare: That was so hard.
Krista in LA
My first car was a 1970 Opel GT. It was so cute; I loved that car. When I decided to go to college 1100 miles from home, my mom got me a 1985 Renault Encore which really wasn't a bad car, especially for those drives back and forth from college. As soon as I had a job lined up for after graduation, I bought a 1991 Mercury Capri XR2 convertible. I loved it, but it really wasn't too great of a car. Besides being a dent magnet, it seemed to have an irreparable oil leak/burned oil. My mom bought it from me when we had to buy a different car before having dd. She still has it and plans on giving it to dd when she is old enough to drive. I'm okay with that as long as I'm the one driving it - not a good car for a new driver. Dh had a Ford Probe GT that he made me drive for the latter half of my first pregnancy. it was not easy to get out of but it was a great car. I wish we had kept it. When we are done paying for college in 12 years or so, I plan on getting a cute little convertible again, or maybe a Harley.;)

The turbos were not so great but boy was it fun to drive.
