  1. I still have the program booklet from this year and it says at the bottom: April 19-21, 2012 Duke Energy Convention Center, Cincinnati Deb
  2. Thanks for the heads up! Mine will be arriving on Thursday! Deb
  3. You might want to post this on the high school board. I'm not sure how often she frequents this board. :) Deb
  4. I'm looking for a notebook for ds to take notes of sermons during church. I know I read about it on this very board. I've found a couple online, but I thought someone found one geared more towards kids. Whoever it was provided a link, and I remember clicking on the link and thinking, "Wow! What a neat idea!" That was probably a couple of years ago. Of course, I didn't think to bookmark it...:glare: Does anybody know what I'm talking about? or have I gone off the deep end...AGAIN! Deb
  5. When someone who is giving me directions tells me to turn west, I tell them like it is! "Look, I'm a 'turn left at the Taco Bell' kind of girl. Turning west means absolutely nothing to me!" I think it depends on how you're wired! Deb
  6. I also have trouble getting on during lunch time. I logged on again real quick before we start back up after quiet time in the hopes of being able to check in! I usually try to get a look when I'm having breakfast. I assume everyone has started their day since I've never had a problem getting on then. Of course, now that I've said something....:glare: Deb
  7. Nope, not this week. Week 2 looks like it's mainly an overview of Napoleon. The New Nation will pick back up in week 3. Glad I was able to help! Deb
  8. LG reading: Napoleon: The Story of the Little Corporal by Robert Burleigh pp. 20-43 Seeker of Knowledge by James Rumford UG reading: Napoleon by Lucy Lethbridge chapters 5-6 The Louisiana Purchase by Michael Burgan pp. 4-21 Diary of an Early American Boy by Eric Sloane chapters 4-6 Read Aloud: Of Courage Undaunted by James Daugherty part II Does that help? Deb :001_smile:
  9. Looks like week 32 Imperial Rome: Backdrop to the Atonement HTH, Deb
  10. Another vote for The Children's Place. My son just gets taller and never bigger around the waist...slims with an adjustable waist are a must! I like that they are a little longer in the leg than some other brands. I don't think they carry slims in the store, but if you ask them, they have coupon cards they can give you so you don't have to pay for shipping. I always take DS in to try on the regular size to make sure the length will be okay and then go up to the counter and tell them I need to order that size, but in slims. They've offered the free shipping to me every time. Good luck! Deb
  11. Thanks for the responses! I didn't think it would cause a problem, but wanted some BTDT advice! Thanks again...we fly out on Tuesday. :auto: Deb
  12. Any problems taking your kindle on an airplane? :bigear: Deb
  13. My kids have also liked the old cartoons DH and I watched growing up. Rocky and Bullwinkle (with Fractured Fairytales and Mr. Peabody and Sherman) George of the Jungle (Super Chicken and Tom Slick) The Pink Panther It's amazing what they have available! You have received lots of great ideas. Enjoy! Deb
  14. DD9 can take a pill if you put it in a spoonful of yogurt. Keep trying...you'll find something that will work. I know how frustrating it can be. :grouphug: Deb
  15. DD8 will be finished with speech once she conquers the ever elusive 'R'. It seems like we've been working on it FOREVER! Her problem is not just the 'R' sound, but also 'ar', 'or', 'ir' and 'er' sounds. I think that's what makes it so hard. If it was just the 'R', it wouldn't be so bad, but she distorts the vowels when she says them in combination. Maybe we should just move to Boston! Good luck! and remember that you really do know what's best for your child! Deb
