amo_mea_filiis.
I'm finishing up next year's plans, and i need more books for dd. she reads very well as long as it's interesting. I really want to challenge her this year. She has read (multiple times) the Avalon: Web of Magic series (she can read a book in a few hours). Harriet the Spy took a day. The Twilight books took her a week. She read a lot of the Warrior books, but lost interest. Please do not think i am bragging. She reads tons of things at many levels, so im not really sure what shes capable of. She tried 20,000 leagues under the sea, but said it was boring. She liked white fang. I need at least 12 well written books (she owns way too many goosebumps books, im looking for a little less fluffy) but i may bump it to 24 once i know where she is. This year with the cyber was a wash because they only read 2 books! She finished them before school even started! As long as it is not filled with sex and a lot of curses, its fine by me. Parrothead
Dd recently finished the Fablehaven series and read the first couple of the new Rick Riordan books. Currently she is reading HP book 1. If this helps in any way this is her 8th grade reading list. And this is the thread I started earlier today basically asking the same question. 5Wizards
My almost 11 year old recently read Peter and the Starcatchers and is on the 2nd book now. She says that she really enjoys them, but I haven't personally read them. http://www.amazon.com/Peter-Starcatchers-Dave-Barry/dp/078684907X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1338420341&sr=1-1 I'm drawing a blank for what else right now. She's constantly reading and rereading books, so I'll try to come back later and add some more ideas. Oh, and she is impatiently waiting for the sequel to The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairlyland to come out - she read that recently and loved it.
