secular_mom
Yes, though I wouldn't assume the bearer of the name is religious.

ChristusG
I love the name Ephram (which is how I would spell it since I would want it pronounced like ef-rum). If DD#1 were a boy, her name would have been Ephram. I'm still keeping it in mind for another child since our second child is also a girl. We are a conservative Christian family but don't use Biblical names. I just like very unique names and Ephram is unique.
jujsky
do you automatically think "religious" or "Bible?" Would you assume a child with this name had a conservative religious family? Yes to all of the above.

Forget-Me-Not
Funny, I'm LDS and I've never met anyone Ephraim :D. It surprises me that so many on this thread would associate that name with the LDS religion. My first thought was Jewish.
Teachin'Mine
My first thought would be that he's a Jew! :) But other people seem to like those Hebrew names too... ;) My thoughts too. Isn't it also Doc's name in the Little House series? It's also just a name that parents like for their son. :) Personally, I like Biblical names. :)
EthiopianFood
Wow, seven pages? I think I'm wondering, if it is seen as religious, is it at least interesting? Or is it a fancier version of John or David (which are solid names, but not my thing)?

Danestress
It may be a name that was co-opted by Christians for a while. Don't know - I have never known and Ephraim. But when I hear it, I am thinking "Jewish." Cute name.
jentancalann
Yes. The only Ephraim I've ever known is a 6 yo son of our youth pastor. They also have a Levi and a Caleb.

specialmama
I would typically think Biblical, but I'd also think of a family name from India. I know an East Indian guy named Ibrahim Ephraim.
