sarawatsonim
Hi there, I know $20 isn't a lot of money to spend for unlimited access to the variety print outs it offers. But I was curious as to how many people actually implement these regularly into their teachings? I new a PS teacher that used to pretty much get all of her stuff from that site. I haven't decided if that is a good or bad thing (I didn't like her ideas much anyway). I have a first year Kindergarten girl who will be 5 at the end of Nov. She Can't read or write yet, but is warming up to the idea :001_smile: Thanks, Sara
Sue G in PA
That is so funny you should ask that question b/c I was going to ask the same thing! I purchased the subscription last year and I hardly used it. BUT, last year was a rough year for me. We didn't get a ton of "extras" accomplished. I was just checking out the site today to see if I should renew or not. I will say that there are a TON of great printables for EVERY subject imaginable. But, there are also lots of free sites out there with great printables too. I know that I'm being a big help here, aren't I? :D Hope somebody else responds. :lurk5:
FeFe
Edhelper.com is another good one. I did the paid subscription for both one year and used them both quite a bit.
Orthodox6
I have used both Enchanted Learning, and EdHelper. I prefer EdHelper, especially because it can be used with older ages. E.L. had some fun stuff, but I readily let it go.
sweetfeet
I really like Enchanted Learning. I make good use of it and it has a wide variety of printables. Though I'm sure if I needed to I could find alternate stuff on the internet.
Truscifi
We like Enchanted Learning but we are able to get plenty of good stuff from the free section, so I have never felt we needed to pay for the subscription.
Mrs Mungo
I had a subscription when my kids were younger and I felt it was well worth it.
corbie
I have both and rarely use either. The last thing I need is more worksheets. Won't make the same mistake next year.
FO4UR
I thought is was worth it to subscribe for a year, esp for the preschool/kindy age. Before my subs. expired, I printed out a ton so I won't need to subscribe again for a long while, if ever.;) You can find comparable stuff elsewhere on the internet, but it's worth $20 to have it all there and in printable format, etc... jplain
It has been worth it to me, but I only paid a couple dollars to sign up for a school subscription that was organized as a co-op through another discussion forum. I wouldn't have paid $20 for it.
momtotkbb
I have more than used $20 worth from the site. But I use it as supplements, use it for the color pages, crafts, etc. I use it more probably bec I teach outside co-op classes, so I use it more for that then I do for my own kids. But, when dd was K and 1st I used it a lot bec I needed lots of supplements since I was using Abeka and we finished the grades way too early. tarana
I used to use the free stuff when my kids were in Pre-k & Kindergarten. This year thery are in 2nd grade so we will try out http://www.teacherfilebox.com/ (Evan-Moor worksheets)
Guest sarathan
I have a free subscription to this through my homeschool co-op. I've used it quite a bit, but I really don't think I would pay the $20 for it.
starwarsmomma
I did the paid subscription, but just didn't use it much. My printer is always giving me problems, so I always end up just doing something else.
clarkacademy
I think it is wonderful especially if you lapbook cause you can shrink things down!!
sassiemom
I thought it was great for preschool but now prefer edhelper.
christielee7278
Between forgetting about it when I do need printables and finding so many good FREE items online, I just haven't used my subscription much. I do find myself wishing I had an edhelper.com subscription every now and then though. Also that Teacher File Box looks good too.
gingersmom
They lost money on me. We used it a ton. They have worksheets on everything possible. We did dinosaur notebooks, penguin notebooks & many other animals all with printouts from the site.
Haiku
I have always been able to find equal-quality things for free on other sites. My opinion is that if you buy a subscription to EL, you are not paying for the quality of the resources but the convenience of having them in one place. sarahf.
Thanks for all the opinions...can't say I'm swayed either way though....:001_huh:
Radish4ever
I've used the site plenty but have found that the freebies on there are good enough for me! :)
mazakaal
I had a subscription last year when my ds was 4yo because I didn't have a lot of other schoolwork for him. He wanted worksheets, so I printed a lot of alphabet worksheets from there and found it to be very worth my subscription money. I don't think I'll continue the subscription this year because I have other things for him to do.
Guest bellebud
we use both sites (pd the subscription), and use them enough to justify the price. I like that I can find anything and everything under the sun on either site - ie: ds8 is an avid fisherman, so I easily found short reading comprehension worksheets on specific types of fish. The money is worth it to me to not have to search around the whole internet looking for something - then finding something - then it's not printable, etc.
5knights3maidens
I think it is worth it. I have been using enchanted learning for almost 9 years. I started out with it (it was free!) when dd was in 2nd gr., she is now in 10th. I use it now for 6th, k/1st, and, prek.
NavyWifeandMommy
been using it for 4 years now and it's worth the $20 to have itall there ya know. It's great for on the go and traveling when you don't take the books like I do. LOVE IT and so do the kids
Guest Aimickey
I just subscribed recently because we're working on a States project and I have been extremely impressed with the ease of use. I like that I can find state info/worksheets for the different levels of each of my girls and I like that it's all in one place and easy to print. swellmomma
It is worth it to me. I have always paid it but this year my school board has a group membership so I get free access. I have always printed off tons for all my kids even my big kids. THey are 5th grade this year and I still find tons on there suitable for their age. FOr my gr 1 and tot the resources are amazing. I don't have much money but I always felt it was $20 well spent.
Pink Fairy
If you like using worksheets, it's well worth the money. I've tried to like it, but we aren't a worksheet family--we are a workbook family--so I won't subscribe again.
