dcjlkplus3
My girls are dying to go - we have to wait until after the 20th. Anything that would be too bad for a 6 & 7 year old to see (they have seen all of the other movies)?
BillieBoy
I can't keep up. What's HP?
dcjlkplus3
Harry Potter (at least that's my assumption)
BillieBoy
Ahhhh Harry Potter...... I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed tonight!:tongue_smilie:
LUV2EDU
I can't keep up. What's HP? I think HP stands for Harry Potter..... If so, here is a thread.http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113832 Edited July 15, 2009 by LUV2EDU
Denise in Florida
My girls just left to go to the midnight show, in costume of course. :001_smile:
Remudamom
My girls just left to go to the midnight show, in costume of course. :001_smile: Oh man, I'd love to get dressed up, but my family would disown me. I'd like to go as a Thestral.
mcconnellboys
My older son is going tonight, but I just can't prop my eyelids open that late any more. I'd rather wait until tomorrow and actually enjoy it.....
Denise in Florida
Oh man, I'd love to get dressed up, but my family would disown me. I'd like to go as a Thestral. They view every occasion as a dress up occasion. They went to the 4th of July fireworks in costume (1740s Spanish Colonel). They went to Wicked in black dresses and green and black striped tights. swimmermom3
Ahhhh Harry Potter...... I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed tonight!:tongue_smilie: Well, make room in the that shed. I thought the thread was about computers.:001_huh: My daughter even asked me about going to the movie tomorrow.
Crissy
Too many things to do early tomorrow to go to the midnight showing. I'll be taking Jeffrey at 9:30am. :lurk5: Popcorn for breakfast, anyone? ;)
skaterbabs
We'll wait to go and maybe see a matinee to save money. I'm not letting Yacko & Wacko see this one because they're not prepared for the ending, they haven't read the books and the last movie was almost too much. Dot is absolutely not going to see it for a while.
KidsHappen
We wanted to do the midnight show but I have one dd that has volleyball camp first thing in the morning. It ends at noon so we are hitting the 1:40 showing. I can't wait. We watched all of the movies this past week so I am psyched. Yeah! :lurk5:
NancyNellen
We're seeing the Thursday matinee. My husband is taking a 1/2 day and I got a sitter for the 2 little boys. We go straight from HP to see "As You Like It" at an outdoor theater. Can't wait for the whole afternoon/evening!
The Governess
Oh man, I'd love to get dressed up, but my family would disown me. I'd like to go as a Thestral.:lol::lol: Now that would be quite a costume! We are going tomorrow night. No one volunteered to watch our kids until 3 am on a weeknight so we could go to the midnight showing. :D
LoriM
We are back from the movie...I went as McGonagal, my older dd went as Ginny, and my younger dd was a very convincing Trelawney. In fact, she won 2nd place in the local radio station's costume contest, and a load of free junk. GRIN. (DH went as a muggle!) It was a very fun time. We've gone to every HP movie's opening night in costume (as well as the release of each book). It is sad to me that my older dd will be married before the next movie comes out...and probably not living nearby to go with us. Oh, and yes, I loved the movie. The book is better (of course) but the movie was nicely done.
homeschoolin'mygirls
In my opinion , it's the best one yet. Very well done and the midnight showing was fun.
lmrich
Can't wait! We are going on Sunday (my son is at camp) and my daughter has to finish the book before I would allow her to go. She is on chapter 12 - I hope she can finish!
runamuk
I'll be going by myself this time. :( I usually go with our oldest, but she's in NC for the summer. No one else wants to see it, so I'll have to wait for the weekend to go.
TravelingChris
I was so pleased with my kids. My youngest found out how much movies cost here and decided that we need to save money and we will go on Saturday early show to do that. My middle was astonished that kids in her summer fine arts program were going to the midnight showing. (The program starts at 8am and doesn't allow absences -like two gets you zero credit). She is also thinking that Saturday morning will be just fine. (Neither can go on weekday mornings because of swim and dive or the fine arts program).
Kari C in SC
My dh, dd and I are going this afternoon. We are taking her to the Chinese buffet first and making a special day out for just her. That doesn't happen too often around here. I am sad that my oldest is in Iraq because our Harry Potter days started when he was 11 when the books first came out. Where does the time go? JFSinIL
We are going to the local 12:30 Ultra-Screen showing...we did all do the midnight release party at the library for the last book but hubby has to wrok and us traipsing through the house post-film at 3am would have woken him up. Besides which I am not a night owl (the last book was an exceptional experience!)
Only me
We went to a 7:30 sneak preview last night. It was pretty good. When we got out I was amazed at how many people were already lined up for the midnight showing. A few people were mad at us because we already got to see it. Tiff in TX
I went to see a differnt movie last night and people were already lined up... it was only 5:00!!! To be honest, I was jealous that I couldn't see it opening night. I plan to take my dad to see it this weekend. We are both huge fans and can't wait! Colleen in SEVA
I am taking B to see it tonight. He was too young for the book releases, and hadn't read book 5 yet when the last movie came out, so this is his first HP event. I haven't told him yet though!
