  1. I did something similar to this in my fridge and it has helped a lot. http://shabbytochicdesigns.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/fridgeorganization.jpg I don't have any pets that leave nose prints but I have a 2 year old and I usually windex his handprints after I declare them absolutely precious ;) I love Rug Doctor. We get one 3-4 times a year and it is worth it to us. I used to have a steam cleaner(Hoover) but never got the results that I get with the Rug Doctor.
  2. We are on Christmas break--but my to do list today was to clean the entry, kitchen and my bathroom. I got it all done--even with this morning's procrastination that included a trip to the dollar store just for fun. We started cleaning yesterday with steam cleaning the carpets and deep cleaning the whole house. It feels so good!
  3. He's only difficult to shop for because his hobbies are expensive.
  4. There are parts about it that I love...other parts not so much.
  5. Rewatching Scrubs... I second the Doc Martin recommendation--we love that show!
  6. I delivered at 39 weeks via c-section. After my 38 week appt. my OB said I could have a coke--Sonic was the first stop on the way home lol
  7. I was borderline in both my pregnancies (diabetes is rampant on both sides of my family so my dr. tested me early--around 8-10 weeks). My dr. had me go to the nutritionist and they put me on a diet. It was easy to follow and I had a very easy pregnancy. Breakfast was 1 carb, 2 meat milk, coffee or tea Snack 1 meat 1 carb Lunch 1 meat, 1 carb, 1 serving of fruit, 1 serving of veggie Snack 1 meat 1 carb Dinner was the same as lunch Snack before bed 1 meat 1 carb I drank a lot of water, too. No refined sugar, no diet drinks, food or candy( I didn't drink/eat those anyway). 1 Carb was 15 g per serving Meat was 3 oz. The nutritionist gave me a book with the foods, substitutions, etc. I was able to keep it under control with diet and exercise. The hardest part for me was cutting down on pasta. I love pasta!
  8. Definitely take the angels back. Since it was the first Sunday that the tree was up I'm willing to bet that a lot of people that will participate just haven't picked an angel up yet. For stocking stuffers visit the dollar store or Target dollar bins. Check out pinterest too, for stocking ideas.
  9. We probably won't put anything up (tree included) for another couple of weeks.
  10. found this one on ebay http://www.ebay.com/...vectorid=229466 Here's a link w/different places that have them http://shop.clicknshop.com/?kwi=cHNwaWQ9NTkmY2xpY2tpZD0zNDk0MTUma3dpZD0xNzQ5NjgmY3BjPTAuMDAw&query=glo+e+bear&pspid=1
  11. I don't think I have ever had a set amount of $ for each child. I try to get them gifts that they want or in the case of the 2 year old gifts that he will enjoy. I have really cut back this year. In years past it was nothing to spend over $1000 on Christmas. This year I have bought for everyone on our list for less than $500.
  12. A Christmas Story--Gift Card to a Chinese restaurant Christmas Vacation--crazy lights Elf--anything w/Sugar Christmas with the Kranks--beach stuff(since they were going on a tropical cruise) Home Alone--picture frame or a snow shovel A Christmas Carol--bed sheets Miracle on 34th Street-stationary It's A Wonderful Life--inspirational book The Santa Clause--favorite childhood toy Hope those give you some ideas :)
  13. We'll be in our 50s when #2 is a teenager. Dh will be 60 and I will be 58 when #2 is 18. Just going with the flow...it's all that I know to do :)
  14. Our days are so much better when everyone has enough sleep. My oldest is up by 8:30 these days but in previous years he would sleep to 9 or 10. He always finished his school in plenty of time and it was never an issue for us.
  15. 17. Elf--we have to watch Elf lol Watching Christmas movies is one of my favorite traditions. We also pick a cool night(It's TX--50 right now 80 this weekend...) to get hot chocolate/coffee at starbucks and look at the lights. We have a friend that has an enormous display that is timed with music. He changes it a bit each year and we look forward to seeing the display. Before #2 came along we always went to a Christmas play. I can't wait to start that tradition up again.
  18. We did something similar when my oldest was younger--it was so much fun!
  19. I don't want to start a daycare debate(I've stayed home with both of mine) but probably half the kids in America have been in daycare since they were 6 weeks old. Then there are preschool programs for toddlers. They are only a couple of days a week for a few hours. I suggested MDO(Mother's Day Out) because it sounds like mom needs a break here.
  20. Yes, and they have gotten longer. There used to be only a couple of commercials and anywhere from 45-60 seconds. Now there are more commercial breaks and they last longer up to 90 seconds. It's nowhere near as long as regular TV but they are still irritating. Since we do have to watch commercials I do like that they let you click what is 'relevant' to you and tailor the ads to your taste. We pretty much only see Geico, HEB(grocery store) and I think a phone commercial. They are the least annoying to us :)
  21. Another thing that we do is school outside. We have a huge fenced in backyard. He can run and play and ride his little scooter while we sit on the deck and have school.
  22. This was(is) our house--mine is now 2 and has not slowed down a bit. My mom volunteered to keep him a couple of days during the week. She has been my saving grace. I was ready to put my oldest in school, the baby in daycare and go back to work. He pushes me to my limit everyday....Do you have someone nearby that can take the baby or the means to put him in a MDO program?
