  1. We bought a new Toyota Sienna 9 years ago. We are absolutely not "new car people" , but re-sale value on Siennas were so high we figured we might was well. I'd do it again. ,I love my Sienna. It drives well, gets decent gas mileage, is reliable, comfortable on long trips, lots of cargo room if you need it. It's an awesome car.
  2. It started off well - I slept till 8:15. Finished with breakfast now and will clean up and go outside and play in the yard. It's going to be a beautiful day. This is the first Saturday since Christmas (I think) that I have not had anything to do or place to be. It feels delicious.
  3. We took last week off. Our schedule is 9 weeks on and 1 week off, so last week was it. We do take two weeks off at Christmas and 6 during summer and the various holidays as well.
  4. Praying for you and your little boy!
  5. Today I asked the kids in our co-op if they knew what day it was and the significance of it. I honestly wasn't expecting many to know, but actually... no one knew. So, Hive..... what day is it?
  6. We try to eat healthy, and I really could stand to lose 5-10 lbs., but we eat Mac & cheese, we have chips, we have dessert. I give the kids sweet cereal mixed with Cheerios 3-4 times a week for breakfast.
  7. I do. The link is in my siggy. I'd love for you to drop by. I'll drop by yours when I have a chance!
  8. I just started it a month ago and already I am completely addicted. It's bad.

  10. We are going to have a good day. We're on Spring Vacation from school, the weather is in the 80's and dh is taking the day off and we're going to the zoo. I can almost hear Curly McLain singing "Oh What a Beautiful Mornin'" in the background.
  11. Yes. Everything. I have no answers. There is no hope.
  12. I'm sorry. We're suffering with allergies here, but have the nose problems, too. Goopy. Yucky. Itchy. My sympathies.
  13. I prefer the tankini. I actually think it's more modest than a one piece, especially if the girl has a long torso. Keeps the top from stretching down and also helps prevent the inevitable tugging on the seat.
  14. My son was prescribed Singulair, but does just as we'll on Zyrtec, which we prefer. He's got cough variant asthma and it's allergy-induced. He didn't have any problems on Singulair, but I just felt uncomfortable with all the controversy.
  15. Well..... I'm starting on my 5th child to potty train. She's 2 1/2 now and when I think about it, I put her on the potty. She's peed in the potty. But honestly, I'm not really inclined to push the issue. My other two girls were closer to three years old and it's just much easier when they're older. When it gets warm I'll probably put my baby in panties and let her figure it out, but I don't have the time to put her on the potty every two hours. My sil started doing that when her baby turned two and basically her life revolved around potty training. And her daughter is still not trained. Mommy is trained, though. When I started number 4, she was almost 3 years old (we started that late not intentionally, but she was almost 2 1/2 when she came to live with us, and I just didn't want to start potty training so soon after the upheaval of a new family, so we waited about 6 months until we started training her and it was very easy) and we just put her in underwear and she had a few accidents, but figured it out when she decided she didn't like urine running down her leg. It was a very painless experience.
  16. This is an awesome site. I am already thinking about next semester. Wow! How fun!
  17. This semester I am teaching the following co-op classes : Grades 6-8 and 4-5: principles of aerodynamics . It's a 10 week semester and we're covering lift (bernoulli's Law), thrust (Newton's three laws), weight/gravity and drag/friction. Grades k-3: things that fly - airplanes, birds, bubbles, kites
  18. I wouldn't have a kitchen. At least not one accessible to me. My chef would prepare healthy, low-cal meals all portion controlled so I could lose some weight.
  19. I agree. Plus, why do we need more regulations? More rules?
  20. Im so sorry. I was up at 4:00am cleaning up vomit. Now I smell like anti-bacterial hand sanitizer because we're having a birthday party here on Saturday and if anyone else gets sick, we're in trouble.
  21. The only thing my kids get any say in regarding meals is their afternoon snack. Other than that., I choose. I make and serve the meals. They have a schedule as to who cleans off the table and that's that. My kids fight about absolutely everything.... including who gets to open the door for Grandpa, Grandma, friends and just the random doorbell ring. And that's just who answers the door. It's horrible.
  22. I lived in the Bay Area a while and didn't feel at home there at all. I hated it. I feel at home where we live, but I did grow up here and that has a lot to do with it
