  1. Hmmm. Are you concerned with possible mental decline or possible affair? I call my oldest by another name frequently-- but it's the name of a cousin I grew up with and both names start with the same digraph. The situation in the OP sounds like something different altogether...
  2. I made these last night for an early Christmas dinner: https://www.budgetbytes.com/turkey-and-stuffing-meatballs/ Needs additional salt and pepper, but they were easy and quick. Picky, older DD liked them a lot. I served them mashed potatoes, green beans, & cranberry sauce.
  3. Probably owl pellets. Otherwise, my orders are pretty tame.
  4. My oldest DD followed a similar timeline. (She was midway through 3rd grade before progressing beyond Frog & Toad type books.) My younger was closer to 5th. Without a doubt, what has been the BEST for multisyllable words for my kids: REWARDS Intermediate by Sopris West. It's 25 lessons long (but we split many lessons into 2 days). I saw such an improvement in my girls reading ability and word attack skills. (Actually, my oldest did half the lessons and took off! Youngest went through all the lessons.) The older version is readily available used on Amazon (I even have a set for sale). Personally, I prefer the newer edition workbook (but the teacher guide is wayyy overpriced). I used the old guide to teach the new workbook -- do-able if you're confident with the content.
  5. I also have this turkey breast recipe bookmarked to try... https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/herbed-roast-turkey-breast/
  6. I saved this slow cooker Brussels sprouts recipe a while ago but haven't yet tried it: https://slowcookergourmet.net/slow-cooker-roasted-brussels-sprouts/
  7. I would try all the classes, find a couple you really enjoy, and do them 4x a week (without concerning myself with what they are). That said, cardio & stretch are fine back to back (4x a week). Weights you may want to alternate with cardio or stretch days.
  8. Here's the big question: you don't have to renew your license or take a photo id anytime soon, do you? During the time that DH lost his hair from chemo, he had to renew his license. Luckily, he has a pretty good sense of humor because the picture is....unrecognizable. Normally he's a big bearded man (and he's back to that now); his license photo looks like his mother... but bald. It's amazing what a difference a beard and eyebrows make! It's also pretty funny to see people's reactions when they ask for photo id...:p
  9. These are what my DD requests to make every Christmas. 🙂
  10. PB/chocolate is my favorite combo, too. Here are some I like: https://www.the-girl-who-ate-everything.com/reeses-bars/ https://www.google.com/amp/amp.timeinc.net/myrecipes/recipe/peanut-butter-texas-sheet-cake -- just add chocolate https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/chocolate-peanut-butter-pie-recipe-2125370.amp
  11. We did something like this a few years ago. We put photos on 2 sides and then put fingerprint snowmen on the other 2 sides (I have 2 kiddos). They still hang on my tree.

  13. The only potlucks I've attended were immediately after church, so what I take depends on how well it sits (or if I can cook it in the crockpot during service). Last time I took Paula Deen's Mac and cheese and it was raved about. I thought it was good, but not great. In times past, I've taken mini ham/Swiss and turkey/cheddar subs, with condiments on the side.
  14. I'd taste it and likely pop it right in the fridge. (And I'm generally paranoid re: food safety.)
  15. Aw man. Are you allowed to do outrageous hair colors during clinicals? If so, does a funky/fun color appeal to you? (Blue, pink, purple?) Here's to hoping it grows on you more and more...or you find a solution you love.
  16. Wow. How Grinch-y of them. Do you have Outdoor World/Bass Pro Shop nearby? (I know at least of one in Cary and Charlotte/Concord Mills). They have a great Santa experience (crafts, toys set out for any wait time, authentic-looking Santa, free photo). And long hours. Hope your lil' dude doesn't take it too hard.
  17. Omgosh! I remember using the about.com message boards, probably 2001-2. I'd forgotten about them.
  18. I'd probably prebake sugar cookies for decorating. Then have some easy things to make: https://showmetheyummy.com/christmas-crack-recipe/?m https://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/pretzel-turtles/ https://www.thecountrycook.net/no-bake-preacher-cookies/
  19. Food items in my kids stockings: Trader Joe's coconut strips and TJ's juicy mango strips. We lovvee those! DD will probably get a specialty/vintage cream soda in the glass bottle (we buy them at Town & Country Hardware - they have a huge selection). She's also getting a teensy jar of Nutella that was in the candy aisle at Walmart.
  20. Well, it comes with a lady bunny. Maybe just buy her the twin bunny babies cause they're super cheap ($7@Walmart). ETA: ah, technically it's the little girl bunny it comes with.
  21. I love The Shop Around the Corner, as well as You've Got Mail. Hard to say which does it better; I mean...Jimmy Stewart. How can you top that?!
  22. I just watched The Holiday (again) today. ❤️ I forgot about While You Were Sleeping. I love that one, too!
  23. The House of the Scorpion/Lord of Opium (Farmer). Also her Sea of Trolls series. Chronicles of Prydain (Alexander) Has he read any Garth Nix (Sabriel, etc)? Or Westerfeld? (I really like Leviathon.)
