  1. DH is getting a tuna strainer for Christmas (inspired by a tuna strainer thread here).
  2. Not the dollar spot. At the back of the store in the Christmas section, my Target had several shelves on the back wall with candy and trinkets and stocking stuffers. It was there.
  3. My goodness, what a busy, full-of-emotions day! I hope you get answers (and solutions) to your DD's tummy pain.
  4. Target has teensy jars of Nutella in their stocking stuffer section. They are so adorable, we can't resist them.
  5. I find Dana Mosely's videos (Chalkdust uses them) to be very straightforward and clear. And the videos are divided into topics, so they're pretty easy to use as a supplement or for clarification. I bought mine super-cheap from Amazon (not the chalkdust version but the version sold with the textbook, I believe).
  6. I do this for immediate family. This year, my kids were razzing me because I was lazy and just wrote first initials on the presents.
  7. I think that sounds wonderful and relaxing! (Not lame at all!)
  8. Same here. (Except presents from Santa -- they go out late Christmas Eve... and they may or may not be wrapped.)
  9. My younger daughter is getting two Chi's Sweet Home anthologies, as well as the first 8 in the Middle School: the Worst Years of my Life series. She also got a book of collected fan art based on a video game (Undertale). Older DD got about 8 how-to-draw anime/chibi/kawaii books. She also got a Splatoon Art Book (video game art) and an art book for Spider-Man: into the Spiderverse My nieces are getting a book on insects. I'm getting the 4th illustrated Harry Potter.
  10. OP - is it possible your disappointment in the *amount* of the check is getting confused or compounded with the issue of it being post-dated? You've mentioned how well the store is doing multiple times and that you expected a larger bonus -- maybe that's bothering you more than you realize?
  11. I boil mine unless I'm making lasagna in the crockpot. I'm interested in this, though, because I hate meals that require lots of pots/pans.
  12. I like it. I think maybe it gained popularity during the modern farmhouse trend?
  13. I grew up with cottage cheese lasagna. Now I have a kid that hates cottage cheese AND ricotta! So I make a lasagna that is just TONS of mozzarella. 😋
  14. I have a Hamilton Beach keurig wanna-be that uses kcups. I wouldn't say it's better made but it was much cheaper and it's still going strong after a year. (I brew anywhere from 1-4x a day.)
  15. But it may be dated that way based on when they make deposits. There's a possibility that check will bounce (and then you'll have to explain why you went against the request). (Says the person whose husband works for a non-profit and if they say "don't cash until XX" there's a reason...)
  16. Poor thing, how miserable. 😞 Yes to calling in for cancellations - great idea.
  17. Oh, I don't know. Definitely worth looking into! Thanks for the suggestion. We didn't want to cancel the order because it was a great deal (almost half off) -- probably why they're having trouble meeting demand! But maybe we can change the delivery location (even to the house where we'll be staying...)
  18. Can I vent, too? We ordered an Amazon firestick on Black Friday. It's been out of stock and the delivery getting pushed further and further back. Now it's saying it'll come after we leave for our Christmas travels. We'll be gone a week, and there's no one we can ask to check our porch for us. Boo. Hopefully it'll be packaged well (the elements + electronics=no good) and not get stolen...
  19. After reading a recent thread, I bought DH a strainer for canned tuna. He's the tuna eater in the house. Practical and silly.
  20. Oh, now I want char sui bao. Was that in the freezer section? (We do assorted TJ's goodies for New Years and that'd be perfect!(
  21. We do this as well. It also reduces the likelihood of quick-grab cheating, lol.
  22. Yep. I think the correct answer is "the most you can afford."
