  1. I watched Lily's cam the past two winters. I just don't have the heart for it this year, with Hope gone.
  2. I can't help, sorry. I do not like the CM style, so I would never put those pages in my books. I do have boxes upon boxes of uber creative/decorative stuff - that I haven't touched in over 2yrs. Can't sell it; haven't used it. There is no more "point" to scrapbooking than there is to any other creative/artistic endeavor. It doesn't need a purpose, per se. The process and end results made me happy.
  3. If Pamela doesn't return to this thread tonight, check the sewer in the park for a 2nd body.
  4. The only tree for miles (mine) has two feeders - the birds truly do flock to it. I love watching them!
  5. The Saints beat themselves. Exactly how many fumbles is one player afforded before Coach puts his butt on the bench??????? We were very disappointed. Go, Broncos!
  6. If you use TT, you know that there is a little motivational character on the upper left side of the screen that cheers the student on when s/he gets a correct answer. Usually they say things like "nice job" and "way to go." Today, DS chose the little bust/statue guy. After getting several answers right, DS asks me, "why is he saying I'm a NACHO????" :D He was actually saying, "You're a natural!"
  7. I'm glad the courts had the sense to block so many of these pardons. Not a single news article I've read has hinted that any of the FOURTEEN pardoned murderers were wrongly convicted. The block was based on Barbour not following the rules for pardons - potential pardons must be published 30 days ahead of time. Was he counting on a block? Does the pardon make him look good to the prisoners while the AG is the bad guy in blocking the pardons? Does a potential POTUS candidate *care* what felons think since they can't vote? Why alienate thousands of voters then? What is going on behind the scenes here????
  8. Hi, Julie! I grew up in Columbus but most recently lived in Tupelo. I'm in New Mexico currently but miss home like crazy! You can take the girl out of Mississippi......

  9. Good job! The house we will build next year will have board and batten walls in the common areas. Hope ours looks as good as yours!
  10. I'm a Mississippian. I have previously admired and respected Gov. Barbour. Now I am ashamed of him.
  11. I was banned last summer though no explanation was ever given as to why. I emailed TPTB and asked. A few days later my posting privileges were restored, so I was a happy camper again. I had not participated in any controversial threads, so your guess is as good as mine.
  12. What browser are you using? I'm using Firefox. I didn't think the web clipper installed - until I found the icon later in the top right corner next to my search box. Could it be that it's installed but in a less conspicuous place? Good luck. Things like this can be so frustrating.
  13. My heart breaks for that boy, for all of you. Gentle hugs and many prayers.....
  14. You are absolutely right. I'm referring to the claims of exaggeration above. None of us can speak to that unless we lived it.
  15. Of course the pie wasn't real. To say that the stories of The Help were exaggerated is to minimize/invalidate the very real experiences of blacks in the Deep South. YOUR experience may have differed - and that is great - but you cannot speak for the whole of that segment of society. Really, though, unless you lived that era as a black person, you can't speak for a single one of them.
