  1. I can smell it, of course, but I don't find it overwhelming or even annoying.
  2. 1. I'm jealous that you can place holds so easily. Our library makes you come in and PAY to place a hold. 2. No one around here has heard of SOTW, much less found it at the library. Sorry the system is being a pain for you though.
  3. I could have written this paragraph word for word with the exception of age - my son is 10yo. I feel your pain! Now I'm off to read the pearls of wisdom that others have given above. Very thankful for those!
  4. I like that magazine holder idea! My spirals often don't fit into groups like that, so I attach metal-rim key tags to the top of the spiral. Key tags I found a box of tags in the tire center at Wal Mart where they make copies of keys.
  5. I'm game! :D I have the money invested; might as well use it!
  6. If it's behind your child's abilities, that's when you order the next level. They have the placement tests for that very purpose. I agree that it's spiral.
  7. Thank you so much! Just what I needed for a Monet study with our little art co-op.
  8. Everydaybest, I just wanted to say that you are not alone. I don't have any advice - we are in the same boat - but good luck!
  9. I don't know if this will help as we haven't reached this part. I saved this on my Pinterest board for future reference: long division slide show Good luck!
  10. Here is a Shaving Cream Paint activity that I'm looking forward to doing with my 4th grader.
  11. Yep, I ordered on Sunday. Had the books in hand on Wednesday.
  12. HERE is what is working for us right now. I used to get a lot of "4:07" (using your example). This is helping. I used this as a sample and made my own.
  13. I found MUS Gamma to be VERY helpful in getting my DS9 to grasp his multiplication facts. Mr. Steve is full of little tricks that make getting the answers easy. You can easily do Gamma alongside a more comprehensive program covering other grade-level appropriate skills. A few minutes a day with multiplication on a consistent basis would help immensely. Good luck!
  14. My son would be all over this! Can't wait to hear what you do.
  15. My biggest concern is that my DS9 (only child) will grow bored with six weeks of study on a topic. Have any of your children experienced that? (I should add that my son is not advanced in any way. He just has a short attention span.)
  16. Please disregard. Upon further searching, I found reviews from earlier this month that answered my questions. Thank you! I did a search and saw that there were a few families using TGTL last semester. I'm considering it for the 2011-12 school year and wondered what you think of it now that your students have several months under their belts. All feedback appreciated!
