  1. I am so sorry. :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :grouphug:
  2. my idea of a crumpet must be different than yours. they are round things full of holes, made from a yeast batter that you warm up in a toaster and poor honey all over, which soaks right through and makes a huge mess. Definitely not something you would put in a pocket
  3. HI, I have tried several times to send you a pm, but it isn't working so I will post the info here. I am also studying through Open Uni ~Curtin. I have 3 electives and I was thinking of doing some of the ancient history units that open uni offers. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on some that are really interesting. Please. Oh, and do they have exams. Thank you.
  4. My oldest had this. I scribed for him until he was around 16. I use to find it so frustrating, but he could not write. He would start out writing, and crunch up the paper, then start on another sheet and repeat, until he was surrounded with crunched up paper and said he was on strike. It was so frustrating for both of us! :bored: At 17 he did his very first essay all by himself for a university course, and got 76%. I was ecstatic. :hurray: . My point is DON'T DESPAIR. Don't feel you are letting your child off easy by scribing for them. If you don't they get held back by their lack of ability to write. My DS is now at Uni studying Aerospace Engineering. he is one of the top students in his class. He does all of his own writing. Even 3 years ago I would not have believed it if a fortune teller told me that he would get there.
  5. hard copy. I have so many notes and bookmarks in mine, it just about falls open at the pages I need. :coolgleamA:
  6. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  7. I always thought Bath Buns here is a recipie http://bakingforbritain.blogspot.com.au/2007/07/bath-buns.html
  8. My children only get gifts form my MIL. she is blind so they ring.
  9. I am doing a Bachelor of Education, Primary. Through Curtin University (Perth Australia). the course is fully online apart from the internships. I am hoping to be finished early next year, finishing my final internship half way thought next year. what are you studying?
  10. hugs and more hugs :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: you are constantly in my thoughts
  11. I constantly get calls from India in regard to some supposed error on my computer (It is a known scam). I always cut across them talking say I am not interested and hang up. on Thursday they called, I hung up, the man immediately called again and told me of for hanging up. I hung up again. He then rang me 7 times. I rung a dinner bell in the phone, told him to stop calling and eventually hit upon the great idea of NOT ANSWERING THE PHONE.
  12. Join the club! that is why I have been on the board a lot in the last year  I am on the home stretch now. 16 units done, 2 almost completed and only 11 to go :hurray: I have 2 essays due next week.
  13. I completely disagree with this statement. What if shifting close to your family involved actually SHIFTING INTO YOUR in laws house? having almost daily contact with relatives who are drug dealers? leaving behind your own children? shifting countries? plus many other significant issues. These are all factors that would affect my marriage in a move to be closer to my very aged in laws. These things would have a huge impact on my marriage. I guess according to you I have a big problem.
  14. probably. Especially if I was going to be there several hours later. My Ds18 three weeks ago flew to South Africa by himself. he had to change plains in Dubai. He then had to make his own way to a backpackers and wait for 24 hours for his friend's flight. He made it.
  15. :grouphug: :grouphug: It is tough. My DH would like to shift to the other side of the world temporarily. When one parent dies, he wants to be the one who looks after the other one. Both his parents are in their early 90's. He has 3 siblings that live there I reckon they can do the caring. If I was to temporarily shift over there I would have to leave my children behind (at least the older ones), I do not wish to do that.
  16. I am pretty sure that Peela's children are in uni now.
  17. I am so sorry :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  18. I voted NO. I sort of understand this choice. DH would love to temporarily shift to Canada to be closer to his family (aged parents). This would not work at all for our family. not at all. I hate some of his family. Some of my in-laws have made lifestyle choices that I consider unhealthy in the extreme, and I feel would potentially put my children's lives in jeopardy .
