  1. Here in Australia you can do it without a middleman, just straight from your own account to someone else's. It is called Direct Deposit.
  2. I didn't do the survey. I thought the choices were very slanted to try and get a specific outcome.
  3. wood The heat from a wood fire feels nicer puts out a lot of heat. the fire slowly dies down continuing to give off heat whereas when using a gas heater the room starts to feel cold the second it is turned off more chance of getting exercise ( by splitting wood). the downside is you need to have a source of wood. gas smells. Gas sets off my DH's MCS
  4. how it works is the seller emails the buyer their BBS and bank account number, the buyer then deposits the money into their account, and the seller looks up their account and checked if the money goes in before they send the item. It is probably more common here than using pay pal. Many Internet businesses use this method of paying as well.
  5. Send the rain over here. The whole of Australia is in the grips of a heat wave. It is so dry, bush fires ranging across large swathes of the country, and some areas on the brink of a drought.
  6. Do they do bank deposit in America? here most sellers of secondhand books prefer direct bank deposit.
  7. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Sorry you are going through a rough trot at the moment. I can understand you dad. I wouldn't want a my daughter having a home birth at my house. Instead I would be encouraging her to go to a hospital. I grew up in a house where my mother had some home births.
  8. IF you are in a high stress situation, your body can produce cholesterol as it is needed in the production of adrenalin.

  10. I have to say I agree, and I made a huge effort (mostly mentally) to not do the same with my children.
  11. When you say he was brought up i n a church and knocked on doors to spread The Word... do you mean JW's? I was brought up as a JW, and there was something to do with people all the time. There was a whole community of people that basically believed the same thing and were working to a common goal. It is different to every day life. I lost my faith, and after much time and adjustment I have found enough to fill my life to overflowing with busyness. but not friends really. What I am trying to say in my ramblings is that I can understand how being very involved in a religion while growing up, then moving away from it can leave a huge hole in your life.. a feeling of loneliness.
  12. Sorry I cannot help. I Have heard that at a pinch spider webs help. Not that I would rely on that.
  13. No difference, as in each pregnancy was different . With no 1. he was so active constant moving, I felt bruised from his constant kicking. no 2 very gentle movements and turns. so different in fact that I sewed dresses.... he was a boy.
  14. I agree. My DS had an extensive IQ test preformed by a specialist psychologist who deals specifically with things like Dyslexia. His IQ was indeterminable. as he could provide instant answers to math and logic problems- not using any sort term memory at all in the his superior range for this aspect of the test, but in the writing section he was only in the 39th percentile. Basically the psychologist said that if you counted in the math/logic side he would have a very high intelligence, discard that section to make the results more "balanced" and he would come out way below average. The psychologist said that this was a very typical result for people with diverse abilities and was the expected result ~ His IQ cannot be defined by a test. all can be said is that he is definitely above average.
  15. Well I have always been a slow typer. I think it is because I have so much trouble spelling. (Dyslexic) I just took an test, and after it was adjusted I came out at 36 wpm.
  16. I am reading it as the question as in raise the IQ score. I believe that people can raise their intelligence in general by exercising their mind. I am trying to do this by studying, both at uni and through my own private study. I believe that IQ tests are limited in their scope, and only test very specific areas of intelligence.
  17. :iagree: Allowing my income information on my son's university application allowed him to get 2 scholarships for coming form a low income background, plus he was able to get a federal government stipend that allows him to live (buy food and accommodation).
  18. I remember reading a lot of twaddle when I was a child. I was a bookworm and read everything. My children all hate reading (Dyslexia), and I assign books to them and have even resorted to bribing them to read some of the texts on their reading lists. It is not that I won't let them read a book that I read as a child, rather if I am going to make them read a book, I am going to pick a worthwhile one for them to read.
