  1. I must have breast fed mine all wrong! I didn't get any kicks from it at all.
  2. I always turn my turnips into Cornish Pasties Yum!
  3. congratulations. I only had 2 planned pregnancies. the rest were all surprises.
  4. i I am wondering if this is possible and if so could someone tell me how to do it. thank you. I have bought the CD collection of Mary Pope Osbourne's Tales form the Odyssey( thank you to the person on here who recommended it :hurray: ). the only CD player I have is the computer. I was hoping that I could load it onto the computer somehow and then transfer it the the kids mp3 players, so they could listen to it in bed, or in the car. I am not trying to break copyright or anything and will not be on selling the discs or anything like that . Just wish to be able to use the discs. thank you
  5. the reading list is quiet long, and SWB says to select 8-10 from the list, so I selected books according to my children's interest. for my oldest this list in year 9 was Genesis, Herodotus (which he loved),Danial, an abridged Iliad and Odyssey, Euclid, Archimedes....year 10 he read Beowulf, Sir Gawain and the green knight, Canterbury tales, Once and future king (instead of Malory) the faerie Queen, Copernicus, Galileo.. and we ran out of time for another. year 11 he read Gulliver's travels, Frankenstein, the last of the Mahicans, Oliver twist, and I added in some Australian classics for the turn of his natural life, a fortunate life, and others. He skipped grade 12 and went straight into doing university courses. Last year he rang me from Uni to tell me that he was helping a fellow student with a complex math problem, His friend was amazed that my son knew how to do the problem. He replied it was simple and explained it was based on a principle that Galileo had outlined. My ds 15 is just starting 9th grade. The school year here starts in January. He is currently reading Gilgamesh. the book is only about 100 pages long.. not hard at all.
  6. Congratulations I always told my DH as soon as I knew.
  7. I eat healthy all the time. I only drink water, have a minimum of 5 different veggies and 1 fruit every single day, often more. However when I am pregnant I crave salt. I go through an enormous amount of dry salty crackers. DH use to joke that he knew I was pregnant by me buying crackers.
  8. I am not interested in it at all. I have always looked at it as a giant money spinner.
  9. none. I have never had potatoes or breakfast. I have also never gone out and buy breakfast.
  10. No no no. She doesn't live in the house :svengo: . It is the term used when someone keeps a cow for the sole purpose of producing milk for their household. She is safely in the paddock eating hay. Her name is Star and she is a jersey.
  11. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I have never experienced anything like the level of awfulness from medical staff that you have gone through. The closest I got was a Dr. who thought it would be a great idea to give me a before, during and after photos of my miscarriage all mounted on card nicely. He was so impressed on how he had captured the whole thing. (I guess from a medical perspective it might be interesting) .He could not understand at all that I completely broke down and told him he could keep it. I am so glad that you found a nice kind Dr.
  12. I had one of these for years. In Australia you can still buy them new, and get parts for the old ones. I know people who reckon that the twin tub actually cleans better. I found them very hard on clothes.
  13. IT is way cheaper for us. We have a house cow, so the milk and cream is free. Plus we eat less ice cream. one scoop each, and the whole lot is gone, whereas if I by a 4L tub of ice cream we will eat it all in 3 sittings. Here a middle range brand of ice cream costs around $12 for 4L. the recipe I use is 250 ml milk 150 ml cream (or less) 1/2 cup sugar 1 egg flavour blend in blender then place in ice cream machine.
  14. I read a story like that on the Yahoo news, if it's the same story she also had something like 60 dead cats in her freezer as well
  15. I always thought that the look of super tight skivvy outlining clothes was the result of a sudden weight gain, and the poor person could only just squeeze into their top... or perhaps they were wearing a pressure suit....... You mean all my sympathy for the poor person was mislaid
  16. :grouphug: sometimes I wonder if having so many tests like HCG's actually just increases the worry for the mother. If you didn't know the numbers in the first place you would not be so stressed out.
  17. Most things in Canada are cheaper than in Australia, however, lots of shops will be starting to have their summer clearance sales on and selling things like shorts and bathers cheaper at the moment. Just about the only thing cheaper in Australia than Canada are electronics like cameras.
