  1. I do and while 36 is young in my book, it isn't too young for anything.:grouphug:
  2. :grouphug:Donna:grouphug: You are always welcome in my imaginary circle of friends. Your family and niece & nephew are blessed to have you in their lives. My dd loves her ABeka DVD Academy. I'm a bit ashamed to admit it, but I love the fact that I'm mostly mom to her again..except for math and administering & grading numerous quizzes, tests and papers. (No tomatoes please.:001_smile:) Our experience has been that settling into the DVD lesson routine and set up takes a bit of time and planning, but now each day is easy. Letting go of my ideal vision was harder than I expected, but I still have my ds to torture with Latin. Time seems to be slipping through my fingers and I can't seem to do anything about it.. Life is about balance...and I wish you a very happy year.
  3. I sign up and bring something we would enjoy. When my kids are offered junk...They take it and we dump it at home. You should have seen my dd's ballet bag at the end of the year...It was full of lolly pops, tootsie rolls, gumballs and more. We just learned it was gracious to accept the gift... say thank you and move on. Kind of like the junk birthday gifts...;) We just say thank you and donate or dump them.
  4. :grouphug:Jo:grouphug: You can call me, I promise not to come over even though I want too cuz I know what you mean...:001_smile: Enjoy your little paradise island.
  5. Shudder:001_huh: Reminds me of a neighbor who used to greet children with the ever disgusting... Pull my finger.. Ang, I was just missing you and your posts the other day:D.
  6. Try having your ds circle his best letter/word/sentence on the page. This is a very helpful teaching tool and one that focuses on the positive vs. the negative. After working so hard on an assignment, it can be frustrating to a young student to only have their mistakes acknowledged. Six is young :iagree: and reversals are common. Just keep working, but do be sure he has a good model to look at and refer to. Practice goes a long way, but don't over do it and stress him or you out. kwim? :001_smile:
  7. I have a cuisinart ss set. Clean up is simple, hot water and scrub them with anything you like...SOS, Brillo, green pad a knife (lol) because you wont harm them. They also clean up with a cloth after a good soak with little to no elbow grease. :iagree:Heat them up before dropping in your egg and they don't stick. Imo, they are less prone to stick than non-stick pans and I've grown to love em. Add in the no worry clean up and I'm a happy camper in the kitchen. Cast iron doesn't work well on my stove top and without a super talented cook caring for them....they rust here. SS was my best option.
  8. Love your new pic!

  9. You might try feeding him at night even if he is sleeping. My little guy had eczema, 100% cotton jammies, towels, wash cloths and clothes helped along with no inks dyes or perfumes in our soap, laundry detergent etc. We even had to give up baby soap and lotion, but he showed lots of improvement. Wishing you many Blessings~
  10. http://www.lllusa.org/ La Leche League is a great (free) resource and support. You may try feeding on one side to increase the hind-milk he gets at each feeding and offer to feed as often as he will nurse. Drink and eat well yourself.:grouphug:
  11. A number of schools have a student work program that might be worth checking out. Is he taking advantage of school grants? Did the medical discharge allow him any continued military benefits? :grouphug: I admire you helping him now.
