  1. We still don't have gardening weather, but will be starting some seeds this weekend. ;)
  2. Colleen, I have no idea what you mean.. since I'm not a controlling person by nature:D. Pick your battles and finding a balance works for many couples.
  3. I voted first thing for us. My dd and I are morning people, but ds prefers to burn off a little energy and begin after his sister. This works out well for me and his day takes less time anyway. Even being a morning person, I'm up for at least an hour and a half before we begin. ;)
  4. :grouphug: I'm very sorry for your loss.
  5. :grouphug:That does sound awful and I'm sitting here sending out lots of sympathy your way.:grouphug:
  6. Well this sounds more complicated than I imagined. This year I've purchase heirloom or organic seeds to plant, and now I'm wondering how they will do compared to hybrids. I"m going to look at the links and see if my library has a good book on. I never gave cross pollination a thought.:001_huh:
  7. :grouphug:Nadia. Some glass replacement shops have a temp, clear hard plastic window for under $50. That just stinks and I'm sorry it happened.
  8. Another less expensive ($25) option is the CAT from Seton http://www.setonhome.org . A degree is not a prerequisite for administering the California Achievement test. We've done the CAT and ITBS here. The ITBS is longer, the CAT takes 2 to 2.5 hours.
  9. If the tag has a hole(s) in it, you can use metal grommets to secure them to the collar.
  10. I know...It's baked eggs with yummy stuff in them. Easy and delicious.
  11. I pop ours into the washer all the time to keep them fresh and spider free. I wear them I don't wear them.
  12. I love crust-less quiche! Be sure to grease your or spray your dish well and just go for it. Spinach Quiche 6 eggs more or less 1/2 to a cup of milk or cream 1 to 2 cups grated cheese chopped onion if you like crumbled bacon a few cups of spinach leaves minus the stems salt and pepper to taste with a bit of nutmeg Mix eggs place other ingredients into dish and then pour on the eggs. Bake at 375'-400' for 45 minutes to an hour depending on your oven. Let it rest before serving. I don't really measure anything and flexibility is key to this one. Plain old ham, cheese and onion are yummy baked this way too. I say go for it.
  13. I'd double check and go over the rules with ds. If that old grump was a member, I second the live and learn from it. However, if he was an employee I definitely think it reflects on the club. I'm not sure an apology would be necessary, but I'd call the manager to complain about his lack of professional courtesy.
  14. That was money well spent. Here they automatically scan and charge the owner $97 or you can't pick them up.
  15. Rosie, Have you considered using Mel's mix instead of soil? We're giving square-foot gardening a try this year. http://www.squarefootgardening.com/
  16. :iagree: And wonder or worry more about the crock-pot cooking more as a result of the heat component involved with the leaching of lead into the food our kids are eating and the price their bodies and brains pay. Now if it was just me and dh...we would just use it.
