  1. Fyi... Our local shelter SCANS all dogs and it cost me an extra $97 dollars because our old Lady was microchipped.:glare: Our dog was a rabbit chaser:001_huh: got loose, caught and scanned.:glare: Our dear Lady passed away, but when we get another pet, the shelter insists on micro chipping them if you rescue a pet.
  2. I sent our Rival to the dump, but still haven't been able to bring myself to use the Hamilton Beach one either.:glare: I'm beginning to wonder if I'll find a good alternative. During the winter I started using our Staub (French) oven pot with good results. Now as spring has arrived and summer looms...I won't want more heat in the kitchen. Anyone know of a good ss pressure cooker. OH, and an electric one would be welcomed.;)
  3. Interesting topic. I have The All New Square Foot Gardening and I'm looking forward to our first with it. My library doesn't have much to offer.
  4. Here is my old list, we changed computers and I'm still trying to recover my files. It is in no particular order and far from complete, but a good start on whats available.;) HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS American School 2200 E. 170th Street Lansing, IL 60438 1-800-531-9268 Indiana University High School Owen Hall 001 790 E. 5. Dawn, I'd be a little bothered and embarrassed. That is unless I knew he meant this in a very good way. Later in private, I'd let him know how to express himself in more flattering ways & words;).
  6. You might call your pharmacist and second opinion sounds warranted.
  7. I'd call the doctor and speak with a nurse, be sure to mention all the history and any supplements too. Poor kid.:grouphug:
  8. :grouphug:You poor thing.:grouphug:
  9. You might cross post this on the special needs boards. :001_smile: There are some great ladies over there who are amazing resources.
  10. My oldest is using the ABeka DVD Academy and I've used Calvert in the past with both. There are quite a few options available now. Are you looking for secular or a religious based program and do you want the school to be accredited? I've got a pretty big list for high school I could post if you like. I also think the back of The Well Trained Mind lists many of your options with links and numbers under sources.
  11. :iagree: Pretty much preplanned the same here other than getting them done each day.
  12. Jean, When we were in California, the AP classes also boosted the GPA on transcripts. A friends dd graduated with a 4.3 GPA from high school. That was a while ago, but might be worth checking into.
  13. I do include looking at the DVD lesson guide to find our lesson number as well as checking checking to see if I need to be handing out any quizzes or tests, collect any work and then popping in the DVD in the 60 minutes.:001_smile: Thanks for the BJU times;). My ds would never love the ABeka lessons and I'm always interested in our options.
  14. :grouphug: Oh, Aubrey... You are very real dear, and we love ya.:grouphug:
  15. I'll give the simple answer here. Each DVD video lesson on average is 45-60 minutes. English & math always right at an hour. Then add an average of 30-60 minutes per class of homework and it works out. But it isn't that bad either.:grouphug:
