How to keep a kitten off my couch?
SonshineLearner replied to Stayseeliz's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Just curious if anyone who has a cat that scratches the couch... and then they train it not to?? I'd love a new couch, but would be appalled if my cat scratched it all up!! :) -
Dog neutering question...
SonshineLearner replied to Jann in TX's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I've heard problems about neutering early. I'd just remember to feed food without grain in it.. Get him neutered, and call it good. You could also just email the breeder to share with her the problem. It seems like she'd only want one procedure :( -
Would you do this to deliver with your ob?
SonshineLearner replied to staceyobu's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Yup... I'd go 45 minutes. BUT, I take hours to actually get going :) -

How to keep a kitten off my couch?
SonshineLearner replied to Stayseeliz's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Give into the cat being on your couch... Patiently bring it to the scratching post each and every time it scratches. During training, keep it in the restroom or laundry room when you're gone. (Easier to KEEP from scratching than to correct it) Ask... me how.... I know!! :) Our childhood cat was attended to each time... our two family cats... not enough. I'm wondering if I'll ever have a couch again. If I had it to do again, I'd secure foil around all potential spots while training. I'd also cover the couch with blankets or something, and when visitors come over... Swoosh... just remove the blankets. I've decided I'm not a cat person :) But... I still have one for say... 15+ more years :) -
Off to bed... so sorry for you!! My son who is 8 didn't take off with reading till this year. There are huge articles about reading TO your kids being beneficial. (Like you should read to them until they move out) Are there reading issues? (Like Dyslexia?) Maybe the teacher was kinda trying to be nice?? Sometimes things are taken in a way they aren't meant? I'd explain to the teacher that I'll be working on it, but that his feelings were really hurt :(

Do you get these from the Deli? Is there Mushroom Barley (Pasta) in it? Do you get Challah... especially with golden raisins? and enough of it for French toast the next day? Do you get the Noodle stuff (yuck, I hate it :)) Do you get Potato Knish?? If so... I'm MAD at you!!! I'm SOOOOO freakin' jealous of this meal... My favorite... I even like the kiddush wine... And I can sing the Prayer... I wanna have Shabbot with you!!! :) It's been... 20 years and I can still taste it!! :)

My XMIL reaches out
SonshineLearner replied to Scarlett's topic in General Education Discussion Board
My husband's mom didn't talk to her ex daughter in law for 10 years; not until I told my husband that he needed to share with his mom that he wasn't really so perfect. (and more, but...no affair, no abuse) He's a good guy, but he was really wasn't "self-less" :) He gave his mom the encouragement of speaking to his ex-wife (I know... I'm too nice) Anyway, mom's can't see their son's faults sometimes!! You never know what he told her, and perhaps it's awkward for her. Those shoes could possibly be taken as a nice way to gently be on semi-speakable terms :) Just a card with a "Thanks for thinking of me" and maybe even a sweet pic of her grandson, might be the way to go.. :) -
Rental Agreement Issue - WWYD?
SonshineLearner replied to BlsdMama's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Did you cash a partial refund check? I would hope that you noted "partial" on it if you did. Sounds suspicious to me :( What was once good... often turns bad :( I'm thinking they're trying to keep it. -

As someone who is YE, probably agrees with the viewpoint on YE that Ken Hamm has... I think that this is crazy. I've wanted, for year, for our HS Conference in PDX Oregon to be "Home Education" focus, instead of "Keep your kids out of Public School Focus". I would be driving to WA if they still had SWB and Pudewa and others who I would love to hear... I can listen to liberal Christians, secular, and others... without thinking that they are right about...Everything!! I am interested in the 2nd step of home education. "Now I have them home, how do I actually educate them." I am so not interested in... "My kids are homeschooled and so they are so much smarter than public schooled children.".... Believe me, I'm sick of we are better than them.... philosophy... that happens in so many situations. :( -
You asked if there are other choices. There are. My Father's World, Highschool. Our co-op has used it this last year, and it seems to work well. You can use it like it's scheduled... work M-TH and then do class on Fridays :) :)

I purchased mine when my son was 1.5 yrs old. I still thought it was worth it... I knew that he was my last, and figured that instead of just wishing... I would do it!! :) I had worn him in a sling till that point (I wore my daughter till she was around 2.5 quite often, and she was pretty heavy) I loved it! In fact, for some reason I have kept it. I keep thinking "grandchildren" :) (But NOT too soon!! :)) Patapum Toddler Carrier I found the carrier that I linked to the left, maybe after I purchased the Ergo? There are advantages to it, as they have an infant size and a "toddler size"... (for toddler they just have to be sitting up well, from what I read.)

anyone know anything about the lady comp ?
SonshineLearner replied to ktgrok's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Just a "FYI" as people are reading this thread.... there's a "Lady Comp" for NOT wanting to get pregnant, and a "Baby Comp" that has the additional WANT to get pregnant option.... Wish I had known when I was younger :)
