Very useful! Also, the membership is attached to the member, not the vehicle. So, if she is a passenger in a friend's car and it breaks down, she can use her membership to get towed, etc.
I usually make a big Greek pasta salad with lots of fresh basil and artichoke hearts. There are many recipes on line. The trick is to use white balsamic vinegar -- it doesn't turn the salad brown.
Wow, I need one of these. In the meantime, I'm getting our current washer fixed today. I can't get a Speed Queen in here fast enough so if we get this fixed enough to limp along for a while, I will replace it this summer. Thanks for all the replies!
As writers mature from simply summarizing short sources and begin to use facts from multiple sources, sometimes merging them, this becomes less of a problem. I had the same concerns early on with IEW but not any more. MLA (or other standard citations) can be introduced bit by bit until the student is familiar with common formats.
By "liking" this post I didn't mean I liked what happened to your son - that is an incredible story. I hope he ends up getting an offer from his school. The application process has changed a lot. My dd is getting ready to apply and I'm already stressed. Her pre-med advisor said 13 application is about right. Someone is making big money on those apps.
I will definitely be pulling out of my multitude of homeschool volunteer positions after this term. There are a few I will keep but they will be non-academic. I want to focus solely on my own children.
It would allow you to say you are certified to teach IEW -- you would still need to find your own students. Some places may pay more attention to you if you are certified. I was not planning on teaching groups of kids - the certification would just be something I would do to challenge myself. (I already teach IEW at a co-op).
I've been teaching IEW with a co-op this year and am thinking of getting the certification this summer. It would be fairly easy after all the work I've put in already.
I love the old books by Jeanne Bendick, especially the ones about math. The ones I am talking about are How Much and How Many, Names, Sets and Numbers, etc.
Probably the best thing would be to switch back to MUS since it seems do-able. Saxon Alg. 2 is much more difficult than Alg. 1 -- if he's in agony over Alg. 1 then Alg. 2 will be torture. In high school, I did Alg. 2 and geometry at the same time - one of my kids has also done this.
Perhaps: MUS Alg 2 + Key to Geometry OR MUS Geometry, followed by MUS (trig or pre-cal)?
