  1. This is awesome news. So happy for you!! Hope you feel better very soon so you can start on those (never-ending) projects! :hurray: :hurray:
  2. :grouphug: :grouphug: I'm so sorry to hear this news. I'll be praying that it isn't ALS.
  3. My kids have always smelled things and said, "This came from ______ home. So funny. They were always right.
  4. Usually she goes to the back door and whines, scratches, or barks. If the kids are playing with her and then get distracted by something else, they will forget that she probably needs to go out. The bell sounds like a great idea.
  5. We're in the thick of this, too. Our lab/boxer mix pup just turned 4 months. At night, she has been making if from about 10pm - 6am for about a month now. She sleeps beside our bed so we can hear her if she moves around. If we leave during the day, she stays in her crate. 2.5 hours is the longest we have left her so far. She's house broken until one of us misses her cues for needing to go outside. She has an accident about once per week, and when she does, it's always our fault. She is a long way away from being left to roam in our house when we leave. We have an open floor plan also, and I don't want to leave her in her crate for longer than 3 hours. We're still trying to figure out what to do when we need to leave for longer periods of time.
  6. My sister. She makes me laugh and understands me like no one else. Unfortunately, we only get to see each other about once a year. In two weeks, we are meeting in Phoenix for 3 days, and I can't wait.
  7. I think this is what we've settled on. Alg 2 - with me - Foerster Medieval History - with me -SWB HoMW Pre-AP Chemistry- Wilson Hill Spanish 2 - Wilson Hill Rhetoric 1 - WTMA Honors English 2 - Hopefully Blue Tent Now I need to get a job to help pay for this!
  8. I'm feeling the same here. My dd21 graduates in May, and I can't believe it's happening already. These past 4 years have been the the fastest so far for me.
  9. I'm thinking about using one of the self study courses for conceptual physical science at the Conceptual Academy. Maybe one of their couses could work for you.
  10. I use tonerboss.com and have had no problems.
  11. My ds15 took this class last year in 8th grade. There were a few 7th and 8th graders in the class. He worked hard and did well. The discussion forum took quite a bit of time until he got the hang of it. The class was a challenge for him and took more effort than he was used to giving. Overall, It was a great experience for him, and he learned a great deal.
  12. Somehow, I've lost 2 lbs this week. I don't expect this to continue unless I do a better job of watching what goes in my mouth! I'm planning on a daily workout, but we'll see. Sometimes there's just so much going on that I can't get it done. I've also realized I need to be more mindful about drinking water. So, hopefully, I will get myself off of the computer this morning and get a workout in before life hits.
  13. Enforcing computer rules is so hard with a houseful of kids and multiple devices. We have been trying to figure out a way to do it that makes it easier. My dh gets so irritated with the kids being on the computer or device too much that he either takes a device away or turns off the internet to the entire house. This, of course, is a major inconvenience for some of us. My dh bought a Luma network router a couple of weeks ago, and so far, it has been the answer to our problem. You control the network with an app that allows you to add individual users and their devices. You can add time limits per person such as 3 hours per day or put time restrictions on it for use at specific times. You can pause the internet per person or for the entire house. It also allows you to put content restrictions such as PG-13 on it. I don't know if there are better or cheaper things out there to help with this, but my kids need limits or else they will keep going back to the computer when they could be or should be doing other things. I wish you luck in finding something that helps with your situation.
  14. I got in 3 days of workout videos and 30 minutes on the tradmill another day. This is a huge improvement for the week for me. I didn't eat as well as I should, but I'm working on it.
  15. I'm not sure if it will make you look refreshed in the morning, but I put a new one on my 5 year old mattress right before Christmas. It is awesome.
  16. I really could use some accountability. I do well for 2 or 3 weeks but can never seem to stick with anything for long. Life always derails my plan/schedule. My goals: Daily exercise of some sort - usually the treadmill or a workout dvd Lose 10 lbs
  17. My dd21 is a senior majoring in Plant Sciences My dd20 is a junior with a double major in Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology Neither one had any idea what they wanted to do when they started, but both decided by the end of their sophomore years.
  18. The sun is shining and it 63 today. It's beautiful outside making it hard to stay in even without considering the puppy!
  19. Here she is. My dh wanted to bring home 2. I'm grateful that he didn't.
  20. I can't seem to figure out how to put a picture on here.
  21. Will they ever get used to this new distraction?? She is so cute that no one can resist playing with her or taking her outside. We have gotten very little accomplished this week. 😄
  22. This may not work for everyone, but my 2 college kids live at home. Their curfew is 1:00am - even the 21 yo. If they plan to stay out later than that they let me know ahead of time or text me by 1:00 to let me know. Amazingly, this has worked out well with both of them, and I'm getting sleep.
