My dad has lung cancer ( some CC)

Recommended Posts

I am so sad for him and I wish we lived closer. He is going to a specialist today and should have a clue as to what treatment options are available. He is 70 though and in poor health otherwise so I don't know what all the can or will do.

I would appreciate prayers for him, not only for healing, but more importantly for him to come to know the Lord.

:grouphug: I am so sorry to hear this, Jean. I have BTDT. My Dad turned 71 today and he went through lung cancer 7 years ago. I did not expect him to live, because of his poor health, but he did - he beat some drastic odds. I am thankful every time I talk with him, for it's only in the last few years that I've gotten to know him. It's been a gift. Hang in there, one day at a time.

Cancers in seniors tend to be slow moving so hopefully he will have some options for treatment. So sorry for your plight. :grouphug:

I know someone who also beat great odds with lung cancer. And he also turned to God during this time. It can be done.:grouphug:

Jean,

My fil, also in his 70s, was diagnosed with lung cancer over a year ago and is still going strong. He still works, too (delivers newspapers door-to-door to in a couple of nearby hotels). I think they have gotten a lot more successful in recent years treating lung cancer.

Two books that we have found to be useful are 100 Questions and Answers About Caring for Family or Friends With Cancer and 100 Questions and Answers About Lung Cancer.

I'll will be praying.:grouphug:
