ProudGrandma
2 years ago I started an experiment. I started (secretly) saving all of the one dollar bills that came across my purse (wallet). I didn't purposefully exchange bigger bills for 1's....and I have saved over $400. I wanted to put my dollar bills under the tree for my boys and husband to use to go skiing with (assuming there is snow in northern Michigan over Christmas). But I didn't just want to wrap up the bundles. So I am looking for some ideas to wrap all of these ones that would be fun and interesting. If you have any thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

GoVanGogh
I gifted some cash to my son last Christmas, but decided to go boring and just tucked the bills inside other gifts for him to find. I was really wanted to do origami or folded inside a candy sampler box, like this: https://lifeasmom.com/creative-fun-valentine-to-give-its-better-than-a-box-of-chocolates/

Beth S
We have several bookcases in the room where we celebrate. I've hidden $20 in ones in the books. I did make them stick out a little, so it wasn't overwhelming. Making a Cash Gift exciting is something I love learning about! Let us know how it goes---it's such a fantastic way to gift them the Ski Trip! Money Cake: Money coming out of a Tissue Box. This youtuber made a box that the money "explodes" out of.

Do any of them need new ski gloves? Backpack, suitcase, etc. I think it would be fun if they could just keep finding cash in every gift they open.. Katy
I think I’d just start folding until they looked like skis.
Kassia
We've done the money coming out of the tissue box many times and it's always a hit. It's fun to watch the person keep unrolling and unrolling. But I've never done that many bills - I think it's always been 50.
Tree Frog
I think a scavenger hunt would be fun. You could us ai to help with clues and have skiing be the answer in the last clue. We used this to give ds money. You could use it, among other things, with the scavenger hunt.
bolt.
I'd love to make in into those really official looking bundles -- like, the ones criminals have in heist movies? Maybe by ironing each bill so that it is perfect, crisp and new. Then you could layer them into a briefcase and make it look like it's just a *massive* amount of cash from some sort of shady exploit. Except, of course, it's all ones. That would be really funny to me.
KungFuPanda
Can you put the bills in clear ornaments and sneak them onto the tree?
mmasc
My MIL put a bunch of one dollar bills in clear ball ornaments and they looked so neat! You can put quite a few in each ornament, too.

fairfarmhand
I'd put some in a ziploc baggie and then hide them in various snacks. Like partially peel the top of a pringles can and slip it in the can. Then use a glue stick to reattach the seal on the chips. Open a box of cereal and put it on top of the sealed bag. Glue stick the box closed again. Etc.
footballmom
Quick no labor involved idea: buy a money gun off Amazon More labor intense: make a money lei - lots of how to videos and not as challenging as other origami projects
KidsHappen
Get some balloons and then put a few in each balloon and then as the balloons break they can each take a turn getting the dollars from the next balloon. I you really want to go all out pack and wrap the balloons in a large box.

Maybe I will start saving $1 bills this year. You could “buy” $1 bills from the bank. We bought $2 bills from Citibank to use for cash gifts because $2 bill is rare. We also bought $1 coins from them. Edited December 20, 2023 by Arcadia
