PrincessMommy
I really like him. I've been re-watching Frasier for the last several weeks and I realized what a wonderful actor he is/was. The best scenes are almost always ones with him in it. He will be missed. nixpix5
That is sad. He was great on Frazier and I always remember his bit part in Reality Bites when Winona Ryder's character switched out his cue cards...too funny. He was an enjoyable actor for sure. Mothersweets
I loved him on Frasier! He was great in the movie American President, too. :(
alisoncooks
I just watched Moonstruck a few weeks ago, and was surprised to see him. (I couldn't place him at first and had to look him up; then I was all like "ohhhh, from Frasier!") happi duck
:( From articles I've read he was a really kind person in addition to a talented actor.
unsinkable
I loved him as Marty. I loved his attacment to his chair. DD told me she saw a cartoon/drawing with Eddie the dog* holding a leash next to Marty's empty chair. :-( I got a kick out of the fact that John is only about 15 years older than Kelsey Grammer but still was cast as his dad. *I know that both dogs who played Eddie have also died.
Beth S
My dh & I are just amazed. He was 52yo when he started out as Frasier's dad on the show. Younger than we are. We would have guessed he was 77yo THEN . . . much like the actor who plays Tom Selleck's father on Blue Bloods.
