gingersmom
I was rummaging through garage freezer and came across a bag of Gardein meatless meatballs I had bought and forgot about. They are baking in oven as I type. I have homemade sauce (only kind my son will eat) which I like but in about 10 years of making have never sat down and actually eaten. I started removing red sauce from pizza as a child (much to my mothers dismay) I don't use ketchup Which leads me back to how to eat my meatballs? I could make a sub with cheese but I'm afraid may be dry with no sauce. I could eat dry with ricotta cheese on the side. I could feed them to the dog and eat something else. Any ideas? ETA: they are so freaking good!!! Edited October 11, 2016 by gingersmom
BarbecueMom
With sweet and sour sauce over rice! It's my favorite way of eating meatballs. I don't eat red sauce either, except very lightly on pizza. My esophagus is very much against it.
KatieJ
Swedish meatballs . I don't have a recipe, but it's easy enough to find one. Any kind of mushroom gravy would be good.

KatieJ
I made meatballs for dinner tonight. No sauce. I ate mine with mustard and my husband ate his with ketchup. They would have been good with just the baked potatoes and green beans tho.

Off to google recipes. I never thought of Swedish meatball sauce because I always hear "meat" and run away.
gardenmom5
I make my own 'red' sauce - store bought is disgusting. my sil made some sort of spinach sauce for meatballs. I didn't pay much attention to it, so I can't tell you more.

alisoncooks
I sometimes make "party meatballs" (cranberry sauce/chili sauce or grape jelly/bbq sauce) and serve with mashed potatoes.
gaillardia
I love spaghetti and sauce, but I can pass on meatballs. But I would eat a meatball sub. There is a problem storing my reputation vote. I don't eat red meat usually.
MyLittleBears
We often have pasta and don't do spaghetti sauce. We sauté vegetables (sweet peppers, onions, garlic, kale, & broccoli) in oil to put in the pasta and sometimes some browned grass fed beef. purplejackmama
I guess I'm in the minority. I love a big bowl of homemade spaghetti. It's on my top 5 food list.

AK_Mom4
I love Alfredo sauce on meatballs (even meatless ones!). I'm not much of a fan of tomato sauce either.
Rosie_0801
Back in the day, I sometimes made up a carrot dip and diluted it to use as pasta sauce. But I'm happy with a big bowl of pasta and a decent tomato sauce. :)
thessa516
Is BBQ sauce too close to ketchup for you?
rebcoola
No red sauce here either or ketchup. For meatballs I do bbq or terriyaki.
mmasc
I love a good tomato-based sauce over spaghetti. I'd prefer mine without meatballs. Just a yummy red sauce and pasta. Love it! I'm probably in the minority too, because I don't like Alfredo or any thick, creamy, cheesy sauce.

TravelingChris
Both my youngest and I will eat tomato sauce but we don't like too much of it. Like I prefer a pizza with light sauce.
magnificent_baby
I do not like spaghetti sauce at all, but I'll eat it if no other options. My favorite sauce for meatballs is grape jelly and chili sauce, cooked in a crockpot. My kids love it as well. Super easy. The other recipe I love (but haven't found) is a similar tangy sauce and the meatballs are made with rice.
