Aura
This was the headline I read. Anyone else read this and wonder why librarians were filling churches and praying for deliverance? Are they the only ones participating in this, or are they just organizing it? And why, again, librarians? The Ebola outbreak is serious, so certainly they have just as much cause for concern as anyone else, I'm just surprised that there are that many librarians in one place and that this is the cause they've chosen to take up.... :svengo: :leaving: I'm such an idiot. :blushing: Please tell me I'm not the only one who did this. In case anyone wants to read the actual article, here's the link: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/08/10/us-health-ebola-africa-idUSKBN0GA0QS20140810 (This thread isn't meant to make light of the Ebola outbreak or those involved, btw. It's only making light of my reading abilities and other silly mistakes like it.)

OneStepAtATime
yep, did the same thing when I read the thread title...and was impressed that there were enough librarians organized to do this that it made it into the news...

Luanne
You aren't the only one. I was very confused as to why librarians had to be worried about that.
Cinder
Oh my, I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I didn't want to say, at first, thinking that this was a serious post and I shouldn't joke, but then I opened it and saw that several others made the same silly mistake. SKL
This happens to me all the time. Most of the time it's funny. Sometimes it's scary. :P
Artichoke
Yep, I thought it was librarians, too.
DawnM
I didn't, but I have lived in Liberia, so it made sense to me!
redsquirrel
No I didn't. Honestly, my first thought was to questions the wisdom in getting people together in large groups when there is a dangerous disease going around. Seems like it might hasten the spread. Myeightkiddies
I did for a second and did a quick double-take. My heart goes out to all the people who are dealing with that horrible disease.
Susan in TN
It was a very quiet gathering.

Unlikely based on how ebola is spread.
redsquirrel
Unlikely based on how ebola is spread. I know how ebola is spread and how it is not spread. But it still doesn't seem like a great idea to gather in large groups. You don't know if everyone has washed their hands or if they have been tending to sick people in their homes and could be coming down with the illness etc. Given a variety of options of how I could spend my time, that isn't something I would chose to do under the circumstances. Catherine
Those librarians are a praying bunch, apparently. I read your title the exact same way-LOL.
Catwoman
I read it the same way, too. SEVERAL TIMES. I am quite relieved to hear that I wasn't the only one.
Caroline
I read Liberians, but, like Dawn, I have a reason to. I have a former student who is stuck in Liberia as part of one of her college classes. She is over there with a group from Tuskegee. They are not allowed to return right now. This trip was so important to her, to see where her ancestors were from and work there. Now she is stuck.
Guest
I was about to post, "i hope this is not crass, but every time I see this thread title, I think "librarians." :D
TechWife
I did the same thing - I misread your title and thought "how strange, wonder what the back story is?"
