medawyn
... that don't make you completely crazy? Looking for suggestions to keep in the car and for around the house play time. (And if you have a magic CD that will keep them asleep all night, I'm all ears!)
linders
My DC loved Disney's lullaby CDs - Disney songs done in a soft orchestral mode.
Ravin
Raffi. Or just intro then to the music you like. DD at 4yo singing "Holla Back Girl" was hilarious.
hellen
I like Caspar Babypants, Okee Dokee Brothers, and Laurie Berkner. Check out the zooglobble website for other ideas.

Liz CA
Stories by Jim Weiss. He narrates fantastically and has several selections for the "little people" as well. http://www.greathall.com/

Desert Strawberry
Ziggy Marley, Johnette Downing, Elizabeth Mitchell, Trout Fishing in America, Billy Jonas. The cheap nursery rhyme ones are usually surprisingly good.
WinsomeCreek
You can buy personalized music CDs. I'll have to look up the website. Veggietales silly songs are kind of awesome (ok, to me anyway).
WinsomeCreek
http://store.veggietales.com/veggietales-personalized-cd-vol-2-silly-songs.html The tango always made me laugh.
City Mouse
Beatles for Babies is my favorite for quiet times. I like Sesame Street and Veggie tales for sing alongs. Baby Songs also got a lot of playtime at our house. I just checked and Baby Songs are videos not audio only.

JustEm
Pete Sieger. We really like the album that is all songs about animals
happypamama
Classics for Kids and Beethoven's Wig. Barenaked Ladies' Snacktime is pretty good too. For lullabies, I have always adored Nicolette Larson's Sleep Baby Sleep.
Stellalarella
Our family enjoys music by Elizabeth Mitchell. I very much like the CD "You Are My Little Bird." For a preview, just go to songza.com and listen to the Elizabeth Mitchell channel. Acoustic. Non-annoying. Singable. Happy.
Ali in OR
Kenny Loggins' Return to Pooh Corner is my favorite for sleepy time. We have various Disney Classics CDs that are good (tunes from the movies). We have all four volumes of Disney's Children's Favorite Songs and they're all good. Nice-voiced male adult singer, classic "folk" type songs you might want your kids exposed to anyway (Take Me Out to the Ball Game, Waltzing Matilda, Oh My Darling Clementine, etc): http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Records-Childrens-Favorite-Songs/dp/B00000HG4G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1388558222&sr=8-4&keywords=disney+children%27s+favorite+songs Raffi was popular too. We always picked music my disabled dd liked, and she liked some adult music from a pretty early age--Diana Krall, show tunes like Sound of Music, Nat King Cole, etc.
blondeviolin
Laurie Berkner, Backyardigans, Chipmunks, Disney albums, any clean music (my 2yo sings Taylor Swift quite well), Beethoven's Wig, Teacher and the Rockbots, etc.
LucyStoner
They Might Be Giants. Their bedtime one for kids is good. As is Caspar Babypants and Recess Monkey. Caspar Babypants has a new Beatles cover one. My son loves it and I don't want to stab anyone while listening to it. That's what I call kid CD success around here! medawyn
Thanks, all! If we ever get a nap time around here, I'm going to enjoy spending time previewing some new music. My son loves it and I don't want to stab anyone while listening to it. That's what I call kid CD success around here! This is more or less my definition of success, too. A few more options will also help!
Shamzanne
I second Elizabeth Mitchell's CDs. You are My Little Bird, You are My Sunshine, and You are my Flower. They are all delightful . . . I could never choose a favorite. They are my go to toddler gift. My near nine year old and I still love to listen to them.
