What gifts were the biggest hits for your 2-3 year olds?

I need to place an order with RR and am once again looking to fill it with some ideas that will keep my 2yo boy interested and occupied while we do school when things start up again.  Anybody have a 2-3yo child who got something for Christmas that they just can't put down?  I need to know what it is they got! ;)

My three-year-old stepdaughter got a plastic toy set in which each figure is a different stage in the life cycle of a frog. We knew she'd like it, since she's all about the animal baby-parent pair right now, but we did not expect her to choose to play with it rather than the trampoline, zip line, and kid-sized hamster ball we gave as group presents to the whole family. Very small children are funny, particular creatures, aren't they?

I gave both my kids boxes full of craft supplies. My 3 year old has been thrilled. She's cutting and gluing to her hearts content. She's already used up an entire glue stick. My dh had rolled his eyes before Christmas when I wanted to do this, but it's definitely been a hit for her. She especially likes gluing the googly eyes onto things. It is a mess though.

My little one is 4, but she and her younger cousins have spent the last several days giggling with their storytelling cards. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FYH1UC/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001FYH1UC&linkCode=as2&tag=libhilhou-20

Sorry for the ugly link and affiliate code - posting from my iPad and I don't feel like taking the time to figure out how to make it pretty.

(I'm thinking soon we might need to find him a kitchen play set.)

This imaginext castle (but we didn't pay that much for it): http://www.fisher-price.com/en_US/brands/imaginext/products/66758

He also loves this Leap Frog Train (a hand me down from his older brother): http://www.amazon.com/LeapFrog-Enterprises-Leapfrog-Phonics-Railroad/dp/B00006781A

Oh, we didn't do this for Christmas but one thing that can keep my 3 yo occupied for awhile is that play food with velcro that you can "cut" with a knife. We also have a pizza set that has Velcro on top and little pepperonis, peppers and mushrooms that you can stick to it. She likes to take people's orders and bring them their pizza. I think my nephew has a sandwich set and a grilling set that uses Velcro. It's a pretty big hit with kids who come to visit too.

A bunch of cheap plastic horses (cheap plastic animals tend to be a big hit in general), a Cabbage Patch knockoff baby doll in a bird costume that I suspect came from a dollar store, and Duplos. The markers were a big hit that I can't really recommend.

The balance bike she got last year turned into a big hit at around 2.5.
