unsinkable
Woohoo! My CDs are here! Thanks for the recommendations. Most of them were about $7 and I had some amazon credit so I barely spent anything.
Kim in Appalachia
Jars of Clay, Straight No Chasers (probably my kids favorite), She and Him, Glad (I still love this Christmas album, it never grows old), Johnny Mathis (He does my favorite rendition of "O Holy Night"), Mannheim Steamroller, and Charlie Brown. almondbutterandjelly
Christmas Wishes from Bing Crosby and the Roger Wagner Chorale A Merry Mancini Christmas by Henry Mancini His Orchestra and Chorus Gene Autry Sings Santa Claus is Coming to Town (the whole cd has more than just this song. Up on the Housetop, Ten Little Reindeer, Rudolph...) Question: Is the Charlie Brown Christmas just instrumentals? I really prefer voices too. mytwomonkeys
Don't judge me. I love "Last Christmas" by Wham. I loved it in 9th grade and I love it now! :)

Tina
What an amazing variety everyone listens to! Here it's Casting Crowns, Billy Dean, Alan Jackson's 2nd Christmas album, an old Merle Haggard, amid lots of others including classics like Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, etc.

73349
So we're the only Chipmunk fans?? DS also likes the Sandbox Band's Snow Day. I've never found a Christmas album I love every single song on, actually.
I talk to the trees
Last year, we discovered Hayseed Dixie's "Misty Wonderland Hop" - a must for Led Zeppelin fans, and also the Chris Squire arrangement of "Gaudete." I think we will be downloading the rest of Chris Squire's Swiss Choir this year.
Liz CA
I have a medley of Italian, Norwegian and German songs as well as English. Among the English, I like classics like The Carpenters, Anne Murray, then there is Elisabeth von Trapp's rendition of Dona Nobis Pacem and the Vienna Boys' Choir as well as the Windsbacher Knabenchor. Oh, and Il Volo's Adeste Fidelis and Panis Angelicus, Susan Boyle's Away in a Manger and Joy to the World.
happypamama
The Piano Guys' Christmas album! And whatever the Michael W. Smith album is that has Christmas Angels. Subbing to this thread. . . I just discovered streaming music through Amazon Prime and am up for new ideas!
Kareni
I answered last year, but since then we've added Sting's If On A Winter's Night... Regards, Kareni
unsinkable
Oh! I wanted mention that years ago someone here mentioned Christmas from English Cathedrals. I got it and it is what we have listened to during Christmas dinner ever since.

Arcadia
I like Carol of the Bells by Celtic Woman or Piano Guys. My older has been singing "Simply Having a wonderful Christmas Time" for the past few weeks :P
Northwoodsmama
Someone recommended Pentatonix to us this week, the kids love it! No instruments, just voices, beat-boxing, unusual but some lovely songs, especially Mary Did You Know. We've also been listening to Harry Connick, Jr, and Lewis Ross. We love Christmas music! FloridaLisa
My favorite hands down: Josh Groban's Noel. Such a great mix of traditional favorites and Josh Grobany new pieces. Second favorite (and I haven't seen it mentioned): Keith and Kristyn Getty's Irish Christmas Joy But #1's been in my CD player since just before Thanksgiving. Kareni
Someone recommended Pentatonix to us this week, the kids love it! No instruments, just voices, beat-boxing, unusual but some lovely songs, especially Mary Did You Know. I'd never heard of Pentatonix until this week when my sister mentioned their Christmas album on a wish list. My adult daughter said she's been acquainted with their work for several years now. (I'm just behind the times!) My husband and I watched a couple of their Youtube videos; I agree, Northwoodsmama, their rendition of Mary, Did You Know is impressive. MrsMommy
There's a new Downton Abbey Christmas CD. It duplicates a lot of music I already have, but I still like it. :)
chiguirre
Strictly speaking, this is a New Year's song but it's still awesome and Celia Cruz rocks it: Me dejo una chiva, una burra negra....
I talk to the trees
We got Straight No Chaser's "Under the Influence" album this year. "Nutcracker" is a hoot! Any other favorites? I'm thinking something classical crossover might be fun.
Negin
Many have already been mentioned. I love Christmas music - just crazy about it. For those who like Chrissie Hynde/The Pretenders - this is not a Christmas carol, but it's about Christmas time - . - Margaret Whiting - Huffington Post had something last year that said this song is about rape. How silly. - Piano Guys. The Christmas Album by The Carpenters. Trans-Siberian Orchestra - this song gives me goosebumps, particularly when Boy George, followed by George Michael (call me biased, but I honestly believe that he has the best voice ever) sing at the beginning. I like the beginning of this song more than the rest of it. I remember when it came out - pure nostalgia. I think they all got together over the course of a weekend and produced this song. They look exhausted and rightly so. Hark the Herald Angels Sing - Mariah Carey - I don't care for Mariah Carey or Celine Dion really, but their Christmas music is superb. Hark the Herald is one of my favorite Christmas songs. - Andy Williams Someone else mentioned Last Christmas by Wham - of course! :D - Bing Crosby & David Bowie Anything by Josh Croban - Sarah McLachlan - not a Christmas song per se, but absolutely beautiful and about Christmas. Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee - Taylor Swift - Jackie Evancho - amazing and she was only 10 when this was recorded. What Child is This - Charlotte Church - I think she was 14. Another amazing voice. Annie Lennox (whose voice I love) is a huge fan of Christmas - . Okay, now I'm really in a very festive mood. Just love this thread. :)
