Shelly in IL
isn"t that dumb? I've loved those toys like they have! But i can"t see keeping them around forever. Is that shortsighted? Maybe I'll keep a couple sets?
Starr
I have a bin of playmobil to keep. It gets used for teaching Sunday School, babysitting, and friends visiting. I plan on keeping one of legos as well.
Arcadia
My mum said she regretted giving away my playmobil when she thought I was "pass that age". She wished she had kept for my children. ETA: I kept my soft toys from childhood and my boys love them. Grover
Playmobil and Lego are among the things I intend to keep for the next generation - It'll get boxed up and stored, but it's not a toy that "goes out of style"
MyLittleWonders
We plan on keeping a few bins of select toys for grandchildren and the possible babysitting type small visitors.
JoLuRu
I'd be interested in buying some if you decide to sell. :) My kids are just getting into Playmobil.
Annie G
Time passes much more quickly than I thought it would. We have Playmobil and Thomas collections to hand down to the grands. Oh, and some original American Girl dolls- before they were bought by Mattel. Storing the stuff was kind of a pain but seeing the kids and grandkids pull stuff out and play with it? Priceless. Monarch Room
Ahh...this post makes me a little sad. I sold all my boys' trains this year. They were very loved by both. Both of them said they no longer wanted them. My MIL had kept some of my husband's toys, but neither boy played with them like he did. I think it was more sad saying goodbye to their preschool days for me than it was for them. I kind of wish I had kept a handful of them though still. Guest inoubliable
So then....I'm the only one here hoping that some parents will part with their Playmobil this holiday season? Preferably through a local thrift shop? :tongue_smilie:
linders
Keeping Lego, Playmobil, and Brio train stuff here. Much to DH's dismay.
learningmama
Going through this as well. I have kept some stuff, but need to get rid of a bunch at a consignment sale next month. I don't have room to keep much, but it is hard to part because toddler/preschool toys are so cute and I love that age.
justamouse
My mom kept my favorite toys for my kids. My kids LOVE going ot her house and playing with my toys. Keep them. That's what attics are for. :001_smile:
skeeterbug
My parents kept my Lego and I was so glad! I'd definitely keep Playmobil, it's timeless. I'll definitely be keeping some toys for the grandkids. I knew a lady that had a huge toy closet, she'd kept many of her four kids toys. They were delightful to look through for the adults and kids alike.
PhotoGal
It is hard for me to get rid of our Playmobil, even though the kids were never that into them! I just think they are cool. :) I won't be keeping them, but may keep some wooden blocks around for visiting little kids, etc.
2squared
I have no problem tossing anything, but our Playmobil is here to stay. We have quite a collection, and I fully expect at least one of my grandkids to play with it. Same goes with our wooden Thomas trains & tracks. They are MINE. The American Girl dolls belong to my daughters, and I expect they will pass those to their kids. The rest of the toys aren't keepers. Even our legos are just OK. My kids aren't lego lovers, so we will undoubtedly pass those on in a couple years.
regentrude
everything else is given away - Playmobil stays!
Punchie
I'd say keep it. Playmobil will be one of the few toys that I'll keep. If only b/c once a set has had its run, it's done. My mom has all of my sister's sets (the Victorians, American Indians, and some others). We're waiting to make sure DD is respectful of the Playmobil she has before we ship it out here. The only stipulation my sister put on it is that we're not allowed to sell it.
Oak Knoll Mom
I'll add my voice to the "keep them" chorus. My MIL kept my DH's Playmobil and my boys love to play with them when they visit her.
momacacia
If you love them (and they loved them) keep them! Still have a little Parking Garage set with little wooden Fisher Price type people, a slide for the cars and elevator the people and the cars. The kids have loved it. Moving parts, a bell and not batteries. What's not to love!
GSOchristie
We are keeping all Little People, Playmobil, Plan City/dollhouse, and Legos. My kids love to play with vintage little people at my grandmother's and mother's houses. My aunt kept all of her Playmobil and Legos, and Asher will play for hours with it at her house. T'smom
Well, if anyone is looking to part with some of their Playmobil items I'd be happy to take them off your hands. :D Me too! Especially the pyramid!
ChristusG
Another vote for keeping them! I am not a keeper of clutter....once something is not played with, it's gone. That said, Playmobil is on my list of things to keep....along with Little People, Lego, and Chuggington trains. Some things just can't be parted with. Desert Rat
I feel the same way about my ds9's bakugan I'm selling this ebay season. I'm keeping a couple of my favorites. OP, you should, too. Call it your Granny Stash.
Ghee
I'll throw my name in as willing to take things off your hands ;) You can PM us all a list and it will be gone in seconds LOL
myfatherslily
My kids play with my old Playmobil. :)
Jaz
As someone who re-purchased the Little People Nativity because I missed it, I recommend keeping some. I'm a minimalist but plan to keep Playmobil, Lego, fairy dollhouse and Madeline. And the wooden castle blocks and...
