amyinva
Let me see if I can make a poll...
Nestof3
I'll answer your poll, but yes. Rarely does anyone else, though.
thescrappyhomeschooler
Yes, and I make the rest of them do it too. Can't stand when chairs are left out, drawers and cupboards are left open, etc.
kitten18
Always. Always. Always.
KungFuPanda
Yes. We all do. I never really thought about it and don't specifically remember teaching the kids to do it.

Elinor Everywhere
Yes! But my dh, who is usually Mr. Etiquette, doesn't, and it drives me nuts. And as I'm looking at the kitchen table right now, apparently my children don't either, at least at home. :glare:
beaners
So far I'm the only one who pushes my chair in at other places but not at home. I'll push in chairs if they block the flow of traffic, but otherwise I usually leave them out. I hate needing to pull a chair out with my feet because my hands are full and I have nowhere to sit. GSOchristie
Hmmm, I always push in my chair, as does my dh and our kids. I've never really thought about it, why would you leave the chair out? Doesn't it get in the way?
Joker
Yes, and if we forget oldest dd reminds us. I've even caught her pushing in stray chairs in restaurants (she also takes in stray carts.) :tongue_smilie:
IsabelC
Please tell me I'm not the only person who read the thread title quickly and thought it was about second stage labor :001_huh:
Mélie
So far I'm the only one who pushes my chair in at other places but not at home. I'll push in chairs if they block the flow of traffic, but otherwise I usually leave them out. I hate needing to pull a chair out with my feet because my hands are full and I have nowhere to sit. I do this as well. The chairs in my formal dining room (which we never use) are pushed in, but the ones in the kitchen are usually left out. They don't get in the way. kewb
Ugh, huge pet peeve of mine. I have trained my children to push their chairs in when they get up from the table. I was only half successful in training dh.
QuirkyKapers
At home, sometimes. But everywhere else, yes.
besroma
Everywhere. It bugs me to see chairs that are not pushed in.

forty-two
Always, but I'm the only one who does. Even my mom doesn't, so I have no idea where I picked it up from - but it is a *thing* for me, and I push in any chairs that need it as I pass the table. (And I push in mine right as I get up. Annoying when I end up sitting back down 2 minutes later, but there ya go :tongue_smilie:.)
Tammi K
I voted 'YES' to at home, at restaurants, and at other people's houses. But, I also voted 'other' because no one else in my family seems to have inherited the 'push in the chair' gene and if I trip over the stools in the kitchen by the island one more time I may have to be locked up for the rest of my natural life because I will do bodily harm to the offender. (Ah, it feels good to get that off my chest. Can we tell this is a point of irritation in my home?:glare:)
Dinsfamily
I think pushing in chairs might be an obsession for me. I always push in mine and often others.
Mommyof4ks
Yes, I am the crazy person who goes around pushing in chairs, because it bugs me to have chairs pushed out lol. Seriously, there is probably a name for my problem. My kids think I am nuts, but hey they have all learned to push in their chairs.

swellmomma
At home no. We almost never eat at the kitchen table. It is usually too covered with school items. At the end of the day we stack the chairs on it and push the whole table back. The house is tiny, having the table out with chairs around makes it harder to move around, so the whole thing gets tucked in lol But in other people's homes or if we eat out yes I do tuck in my chair.
