Janie Grace
Dd13 is looking for a backpack to use for homeschool co-op. She has looked on Lands End and LL Bean but would like to see some more options. Do you have other ideas of sites to check out? She likes the PB Teen ones, but they're expensive. I don't exactly know what she's looking for... I think it's a "I'll know it when I see it" situation. (Sheesh, does shopping get harder as they get older! :001_huh:) Thanks for in advance for suggestions!
oasis
Has she tried looking at Hanna Andersson backpacks yet? :D
Janie Grace
Has she tried looking at Hanna Andersson backpacks yet? :D Those are VERY cute but will definitely qualify as "little kid-ish" in her opinion. Thanks, though ~ I wish I had a younger dd to get one for!
Matryoshka
I got my girls Dakine backpacks for high school. They have lots of different styles - look for ones that are for books, not outdoors. The one I got them has places for pens, a laptop, and built-in insulated pocket for lunches - I think it was the Prom or the Eve. You can find them cheaper if you look around online - I got both of ours on sale/free shipping.
Dmmetler
They had some nice looking JanSport ones at Office Depot, I noticed last night. Lots of prints.
mandymom
Look at Jansport backpacks on Amazon. There are tons of cute designs! Most of the time you will have to click on a style to see all the different prints. The solid ones are usually the ones that show up on the search page. mom2samlibby
What about the ones from Justice for Girls?
Paige
I really like this one I got for my DD. She picked the birds on a wire print and it's very attractive, but there's other prints if your DD thinks it is too babyish. I thought it was really good quality for the price- way better than what I saw at wal-mart for more $$. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004P11FTK/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
angela in ohio
Have you tried Zappos? They have tons of backpacks. When we were in Eddie Bauer, they had backpacks on sale. That was a few weeks ago, but they were very nice. Edited August 20, 2012 by angela in ohio
In the Rain
We found nice ones at Target.

We just got a backpack in the fabric style called Lolani which my daughter picked out and really likes: http://www.amazon.com/Dakine-Girls-Hana-Pack-Lolani/dp/B004X531HW/ref=sr_1_3?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1345499736&sr=1-3&keywords=dakine+lolani

kim.4dogs
I bought a JanSport on Amazon for my daughter, too. I liked that it has a lifetime warranty. I'm sick of replacing them when they rip or the zippers break! http://www.amazon.com/JanSport-Superbreak-Backpack-Black-Doodle/dp/B006ML7LKS/ref=sr_1_4?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1345503100&sr=1-4&keywords=jansport+backpack

SJ.
Another vote for Jansport backpacks. I have had one for twelve years and it is in great condition. I think they last forever...
Jilly
Target. Dd found this one in the purse section. My daughter also found her backpack at Target in the purse section. She found a few she liked there and felt they weren't childish at all.

goldberry
Messenger bags are in right now.. http://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/product_view/bagnabitbags/4663778/Hunger_Games_Messenger_Bag_Mockingjay_Large_Black_Laptop_Bag/Bags_Purses/Messenger_Case Normally I wouldn't think this was sturdy enough, but DD is only using it one day a week for a co-op type thing. She also hasn't had a new one for 3 years - since we started homeschooling!
mchel210
Mine bought the Jansport in Black lacis/storm gray print this year. It is very nice and girly.
