  1. I had them, and opted for a thyroidectomy even though a biopsy came back benign. (My endo said I would have to have a biopsy every 6 months if I didn't have the thyroidectomy.) One horrible side effect was weight gain. The surgeon subscribed a very low dose of Synthroid after my thyroid was removed, and in four months, I'd gained 50 lbs. (Didn't eat more calories or exercise less, the weight just piled on.) My endo said it often happens after a thyroid is removed, when they're attempting to find the right dosage for an individual. Easy for them to say, and it's been terrible trying to lose the weight. I'm finally on the right dose, but still trying to lose the weight. I guess I would still choose a thyroidectomy as opposed to getting a biopsy every 6 months. I hated lying flat on that table with a huge needle stuck in my neck. I still ask myself if I hate it more than 50 lbs. Tough to say!

  3. I'm from an ultraconservative evangelical Christian home. I'm still a Christian, but I'm not as conservative as my parents. I do see some adults who become more clingy, but I believe that is the wrong approach. This may sound too simplistic (I keep getting interrupted at work! :D), but I think one should be confident enough in his/her beliefs to simply explain why one believes that particular way, and if the student doesn't believe that way, the student should be able to explain why or why not.
  4. I think this is true, although the people who think this way aren't giving enough credit to the children being homeschooled (as far as thinking the kids will always believe what is being taught.) I was homeschooled, and taught with some selective interpretations. As I grew up, I learned more for myself, and formed my own opinions.
  5. If you click the big Pinterest logo at the top of the page, you'll only be viewing your friends' pins. If you go to the "Everything" page, you'll see the random members' pins. If you're viewing the "Everything" page, you do not need to unfollow anyone. Those pictures display even though you're not following those random members. I hope this helps! :D
  6. Is it one particular person who is posting all the naked pics? I'll see some naked pins if I visit the general "Everything" category on Pinterest, but if I'm only viewing the feed displaying my friends' pins, there's never been anything like that. If you find it's just one person posting them, you can unfollow the person, or just unfollow the particular folder where he/she is pinning those types of photos.
  7. If you run a KJV search for verses containing the word "dragon", here are the resulting verses: Deuteronomy 32:33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps. Revelation 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. Revelation 12:16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. 8. I have a PayPal CC, and there is a "Pending" transactions limit. Mine was set to $400 at first (I didn't even realize it was there), and now that I have it set to $1,000, I haven't reached that "spending" limit. The limit was regarding transactions which were being processed. When you login to PayPal, click the "PayPal Debit Mastercard" link at the right (in the "My account tools" window.) Click the "Change" link at the right in the "Backup payment settings" window If you have no pending transactions, you can edit your maximum backup limit to a higher amount. If there are pending transactions, you have to wait until they're all completed. That took forever for me, because I use my PayPal card for everything! :D
  9. You can press F11; it's supposed to toggle full screen mode off/on.
  10. Balderdash is such a fun board game! We always end up laughing so hard at the definitions/descriptions which are made up by the game players. :D Here's the description from Amazon: Classic Bluffing Board Game Categories contain real but unbelievable content about People, Words, Initials, and Movies Players make up phony answers, read them off along with the correct answer, and others vote on which answer is real Score points for guessing correctly and for bluffing the other players Grab the bull by the horns and play Balderdash, the game that's hilarious beyond belief
  11. I think the bride and groom should get to choose! If I attended a wedding where pie was the only option, I would probably just skip the pie. It'd be no big deal - I could go buy my own cake after the wedding if I needed it that badly. :D If it were my own wedding, though, and I was the one who didn't like cake, I would choose to still have cake for all the guests, and just have a pie for myself. Maybe I'm too traditional; I'd really miss the pictures of the beautifully frosted cake, and cutting it with the groom, etc. :D
  12. If you send the item with a tracking number for delivery confirmation, you should be covered should the receiver attempt to chargeback your PayPal account. Someone attempted to chargeback my PayPal account a month after she'd received the item. Although there was a freeze placed on my PayPal account, they lifted it (and eventually returned my $50) when I gave them the delivery confirmation/tracking number.
  13. When I passed by an autobody shop this morning, I saw a bright yellow sign which read, "LIFT KILTS". :001_huh: :svengo: I looked again, and realized it actually says, "LIFT KITS". :D
  14. I haven't had this cake in years, and now I wish I could have some. It's SOOOO delicious! EARTHQUAKE CAKE Ingredients: Coconut Pecans 1 Box German Chocolate Cake Mix 1 Stick of Salted Butter 1 One pound box of Powdered Sugar 1 8 oz. Pkg. Cream Cheese Tips: Recipe says to use a 10 x 14 Jelly Roll Pan. Suggest using a pan with taller sides, more than 1†tall. If pan is not deep enough, it will run over. If you use a 9X13†cake pan, the cake does not get done in center and outside edges get hard if cooked too long. Use a bigger pan. STEP 1: Spray cake pan with Pam cooking spray (works better, but is not mandatory) STEP 2: Mix together: 1 ½ cups Coconut 1 ½ cups Pecans Spread in bottom of 10x14 cake pan, with at least 2†sides STEP 3: Prepare Cake Mix according to its package directions (1 Box German Chocolate Cake Mix) Pour on top of Coconut and Pecans STEP 4: Cream together: 1 8oz. Pkg. Cream Cheese 1 Stick of Salted Butter (the real stuff) ¾ of a 1 lb. Box of powdered sugar, approximately (1 full box is a little too sweet) Drop by small Tablespoons on top of cake mixture. DO NOT SWIRL. Bake at 350 ° for anywhere between 35 – 50 minutes. This will depend on what size pan you are using. There will be puffed up chocolate cake areas in center that you can touch to see how done center is. CAKE WILL LOOK A MESS. NO ICING IS NEEDED.
  15. Sticking with the vowel theme, here are some names I wish I could use! :D Annabeth Aleidra Adam Edwin
  16. Since he likes Evanescence, he may like Nightwish. They have some awesome songs! I'm at work (where YouTube is blocked), so I'm unable to link songs, but one of the songs I really like is Bye Bye Beautiful. Now I wish I could listen to some Nightwish! :D
  17. :iagree: (I've been on generic for about 3 years. Haven't noticed a difference.)
  18. I get what you mean! I dressed dd8 in a lot of Gymboree when she was younger, and seeing old Gymboree lines reminds me of her being little! :( They grow up way too quickly!!
