forty-two
I *love* Koine - they do contemporary arrangements of hymns, plus some original songs. Accessible, but with musical depth - we love them here.

breadnbutter
I like Downhere. Big Downhere fan too! Love all their old stuff, and all their new stuff. The Afters, Remedy Drive. Building 429's newest Cd is good too. The new band that I love is called For King and Country. Love their sound & lyrics.
MelAR05
Don't know if these have been mentioned, but my favorites are Superchick, specifically their Rock What You've Got album, and Natalie Grant.

Sneezyone
I usually turn to: Mandisa Mary Mary Kiera Sheard GA and Tye Tribbett Kirk Franklin Oh, and I like Anointed too. They have an all acoustic album that's sweet on the ears. Edited May 11, 2012 by Sneezyone
kiwi3129
For some reason I'm a bigger fan of bands than individual singers, and the three you listed in your original post are my favorites. I listen to a lot of Hillsong United, too. For female singers I love Mandissa and Kari Jobe.

Seeking Squirrels
My favorites: Skillet Red Kutless Jars of Clay Newsboys (old, not so much since the switch to Toby) Barlow Girl (female singers) Lincoln Brewster Jennifer Knapp (I haven't heard her new album yet. And I don't care a bit that she's gay. I knew years ago when she disappeared and that was rumored as why.) O.C. Supertones Phil Joel David Crowder Band Other female leads I think are good but don't listen to myself: Superchick Ginny Owens (one of the nicest people I've ever met!) Britt Nicole
6wishes
Some of my personal favorites and great to exercise to-Lecrae and Tripp Lee. They have great theological lyrics, and not all songs are "rappy" (although I love those too! ) Also love Sojourn and Soverign Grace. Refined by Silver
I may have missed this one, but I didn't see Avalon mentioned. Your favorites are also mine, so I assume we have similar tastes. Some of my favorite songs are by them. I love "You Were There", "Orphans of God", and "Can't Live a Day Without You." They have a lot of other great songs. I am trying to remember the name of another one. I think it is "First Love." They have a lot of albums and I have yet to find a bad one. Annabel Lee
I second the one recommendation I saw for Misty Edwards. Also, you can stream live music for free from the prayer room at IHOP (just go to the IHOP site - no, not pancakes, prayer!). Check out Searching for the Real and Merchant Band. mereminerals
I was just introduced to Lindsay McCaul. She opened for Casting Crowns and we were totally impressed with her. A couple of more edgy bands that have female leads are Fireflight and Flyleaf. These don't have female singers, but are some of our favorites: Matthew West, Switchfoot, and Need to Breathe.
