amy g.
We have dessert for breakfast and again after the meal. This year, we are really celebrating and had dessert for dinner last night as well.
Denise in Florida
We wait. Of course, it is just our family, we don't travel on the holidays. So we can eat in our pj's whever we want and nibble on everything for the next two days. :001_smile: Today we will have a formal dinner and wear real clothes. After that we lounge around in whatever we want and graze. Dessert will come out sometime in the evening.
nukeswife
This will sound weird but we usually don't have dessert. My kids don't eat pie and no matter what dessert I make, it usually just sits after dh and I have once serving, so I stopped making it. I think it has something to do with my dd's birthday being the 19th. It always falls just before T-day, so by the time we to the T-day meal we're kind of sick of desserts. Hunter's Moon
About 15-30 minutes after the meal. Then again, later. :D
AK_Mom4
Most years, we eat T-day dinner at dinner time and then no one is hungry enough for dessert. So dessert becomes fair game beginning right after lunch and usually doesn't last until dinner.
Pippen
No one is hungry after the meal but the aunt that brings the pies serves it up anyway, sometimes even before everyone is finished eating.
Lady Florida.
We wait about an hour or two. We're always too full to enjoy it right after dinner. Coffee and pumpkin pie. Mmmm! I'm already thinking of how good it will be tonight.
Quiver0f10
We usually wait about an hour or two also, but I wasn't sure what was the norm. I can't wait for pie and coffee too!
QueenCat
We go to our neighbors for Thanksgiving. There is usually a break of 1-1 1/2 before we start setting out dessert. People graze on dessert, coffee and some Irish Creme for a couple of hours, while visiting and playing games.

In addition to pie, we're having a chocolate fountain this year. So many different dippers to choose from. Might they like something like that? It could be a simple fondue, doesn't have to be a fountain.

Nope my kids are weird and the boys will only eat chocolate if it's a straight up hershey bar and my dd won't eat chocolate at all unless it's a cake. Even then she only eats the cake part, won't eat the frosting.
Wendi
Later. We'll eat dinner around 3pm today, and around 6-7, I expect dh and ds will be ready for dessert. Wendi

gardenmom5
later. when the kids were young, the adults would gather round the table to enjoy dessert without them - they'd come running in from outside, or up from the basement. they always seemed to "know" when we were having dessert. LaxMom
And just in case I was waffling before, I am now having trouble breathing while sitting up. I believe I will lie down a bit and digest before dessert.

JennyB
We do a pizza and pie night the wednesday before Thanksgiving. We started when I was young because my mom didn't want to cook dinner after dealing with getting ready for Thanksgiving and we are always so full on Thanksgiving day. Now we just have a token healthy item and then eat pie on Wednesday and then also a few hours after the dinner on Thursday.
Mommyof4ks
We have a dessert table, so people can get dessert whenever they wish.
Kareni
We had dessert about two hours after dinner. First the dishes were washed and then we played a round of Wise and Otherwise and then we had dessert. Regards, Kareni
