justamouse
insane headaches when it rains? I don't like this, what can I do to change it? The barometric pressure drops and I'm good for nothing. I stand up and it's like the old fair game with the sledgehammer and the bell.
AK_Mom4
Me. I do. Sudafed seems to help - a bit.
Canadianmumof5
Me too. I just pop extra strength advil and it seems to help. And drink lots of coffee.
Parrothead
I used to get them the other way 'round. It needed to rain to relieve the headache.
5knights3maidens
No but my kids usually get crazy and wild. I asked the doctor and he said it is definitely the barometric pressure.
redsquirrel
yes, yes, yes. Accupuncture helped so much I could not believe it. But, I can't afford that these days. Now, if it is a BAD headache I take the following: 1 claritin or other similar product. Could be a sudafed instead. 2 motrin or tylenol something with caffeine. That all together seems to stop it. In The Great White North
Contact, before they "new and improved" it, used to help. Now, none of the OTC decongestants do.
Mrs Mungo
Yes, unless I am on Flonase.
rieshy
Yep! Hot cup of coffee- inhaling the steam first:) and then aspirin.
justamouse
You know, I never thought of taking the sudafed or a decongestant-I'll have to try that. The coffee and advil I'm on, but I took 9 advil today and it did nothing. I have to try something else, too. Kids crazy, too! Huh, that's a good Dr to admit that. SeekingSimplicity
My mom used to say she was allergic to the weather. She was miserable when the weather was like this. I get really wound up when it's about to rain. I just climb the walls.
Crafty Mathy Mom
I don't get headaches, but my knees give me a fit.
Little Nyssa
Yes, Mouse! The weather has just changed again to rainy here in the last day or two and I am headachy, tired, and just dragging. That's why I was on here so much this morning! couldn't get myself together to do anything else.:001_smile: Tylenol, Motrin, Claritin, rest, fluids help. QueenCat
I don't get headaches, but my knees give me a fit. Same here.... my left knee is in serious pain tonight. It gave out earlier today, which didn't help. Got to love Art H. Ritis.
Janie Grace
YES! I was actually going to ask this same question, but for me, my entire body aches when it's going to rain (or is rainy). It used to be just my head but ever since I had Lyme disease, it's my entire body. I feel like an old woman. Every limb is sore. :(
lea1
Yes, me too. Even sometimes when it doesn't rain but is just cloudy. I get horrible headaches and it zaps my energy. It is hard to find my happy place on days like that. Good to know I'm not the only one though. I was thinking something unusual was wrong with my sinuses. joannqn
No headaches, but I get seriously stuffed up. Around here that means I'm stuffy for 9 months of the year. I'm on Zyrtec now, and if I need to stop it, I get withdrawal symptoms. :glare:
HLDoll
Hmmmmm. I never noticed that I used to, but I had a splitting headache all day yesterday and it was the first rainy day after a long dry strech. I figured it was because my husband hadn't made coffee that morning and I was too lazy to do it, and drank a cup of hot tea intead. But given the duration of the headache and the fact that the tea never helped, I'm thinking it might have been the weather.

jenn-
There are several in my family that are effected by the change in barometric pressure. So far it is DH, DD, older twin, and myself as well as my MIL and FIL. Nothing like having a migraine trigger that you can do absolutely nothing about. Heather in AL
Oh, yes! Big time. :glare: I usually only take Advil or an Excedrin if I need to, otherwise I just suffer through them They used to be worse when I was drinking drinks with Aspartame in them. Once I stopped drinking that stuff, they got better.
