Karen sn
We have cheap coverage at $1593 a year. I don't really think that's a good policy when we don't even have collision. What do you think? 2 cars are covered with basic ins. But 152 down and $136 month a month for 11 months after sounds high to me. Maybe I'm just that broke or stuck in the past... OnTheBrink
Full coverage on one car, $577 a year. I have a good driver discount. I use Erie Insurance.
hanki
We have 2 vehicles. 2000 Minivan 1997 Sedan We pay $100/mo for full coverage ($250 deductible on collision & $0 deductible on comprehensive). We also get a multi-line discount because we have home owners insurance through them as well. Our insurance is through State Farm. I also think your rates are based on where you live. I know if I lived one county over my insurance would be cheaper.
Pamela H in Texas
$1968 per year for full coverage on one vehicle and just the mandatory on another. It will go up about $20/mo when my daughter is added as a licensed driver (she only has a permit). I think it's way too high. JMO.
tvaleri
We have a 2009 Toyota Camry and a 2008 Chevy Truck. Our Nationwide insurance deductible is $500, and we have safe driver and multi-discount. Comes out to $1256 a year. My 19 yo who is still an inexperienced driver (until December) drives an 07 Honda Civic xi pays $1800 a year! I have to say when I was hit in February and my 4Runner was totaled, my agent was extremely helpful, even though it was the other driver's fault. The other insurance company was Traveler's. Surprisingly, they've been not too bad to deal with. HTH, Teresa
MomLovesClassics
We have our insurance with USAA. I believe it is about $85 a month (full coverage, $250 deductible.) It was the cheapest we could find. We have the safe driver, low mileage, and pleasure discount. If we didn't have such horrible credit, it might would be cheaper. Auto insurance companies DO check your credit, and DO charge higher rates if your credit is not up to par.
Quiver0f10
We pay $582 a month. :glare: Of course I have kids driving that are 20, 19, 17 and 16 and we have my van, Dh's truck, DD's car, DS's truck, and DS's car. All of the vehicles are older though and we don't have a lien on any of them. Only my van has full coverage.

OnTheBrink
WOW!I guess I should be thankful we are years away from teen drivers. Even though my son lives in my house, he's listed as an exclusion on my insurance. Keeps my rates low. He has to get his own insurance. He's 21 though, so he's not exactly a teen. But, my rates would have been higher simply because he's a licensed driver living in my home, even if I didn't put him on my insurance. And, it's my legit way of keeping him from ever driving my cute little red car! :D
lynn
We pay under $400 a year for a 1996 t-100 pick up and a 2000 sienna and have 1 16 year old. We opted for $1000+ deductables

And she was anyone who came to visit had to rent a car for mother stood her ground. But then again she lives in S FL where insurance rates are outrageous. Mommyof4ks
We pay less that $1000 a yr for two vehicles with full coverage. We have a multi-car and multi-policy discount among others, but without those we would change ins. companies.
Okie
right now it's $2748/yr- 2008 Ford F150 full coverage 2002 Impala full coverage 1993 Ford Aerostar, liability only Dh and I are clean drivers and have multi-policy discount with State Farm, but ds is 19 and has and accident (he drives the old van). Ugh. Can't wait until he gets his own. Oh well, then there is dd15 coming up.
TravelingChris
We have USAA and pay 154 a month. This is with three drivers, one being my 20 yo son, and two cars. We have full coverage and live in a big city suburb.

OHGrandma
We have 2 vehicles with full coverage ($500 deductible). This includes towing for breakdowns. We pay just over $900 a year. Interestingly our insurance costs $400 less since we moved from CT to NY (same coverage and same vehicles). I'm shocked you pay less in NY. Are you closer to work or taking public transportation now? Have auto added to homeowners now? Did anyone hit one of those age discounts, like 26(I think)? Different company? Get a good driver discount? RegGuheert
$694/year for full coverage with $1000 deductible on a '98 Voyager, '02 E350, '03 Civic Hybrid and '04 Travel Trailer from Erie Insurance with MomsintheGarden and me as drivers. DS19 and DD16 both have learners permits. We have not pursued getting them licenses mainly because of the insurance impact. We get discounts for multi-car, multi-policy, safe driver and good credit rating. (Yes, auto insurance companies raise/lower your policy rates based on your credit rating, only they call it an "insurance score". It's outrageous, but I think they all do it!) Tree House Academy
Farm Bureau insurance. We have 2 newer cars under full coverage (2004 Honda Accord and 2007 Toyota Rav 4) is $1150 a year (that translates to $96 a month, but we don't pay monthly). This is 100/300/100 and includes rental coverage, $1000 deductible). Edited July 24, 2009 by Tree House Academy
sweetfeet
I live in Ohio and pay $936/year. We have a 2003 Saturn Ion and a 2007 Toyota Corolla. We have full collision on both cars, though one is paid off, and a $500 deductible. We have better than minimum coverage. I first started driving when I was 20 (I'm 28 now) and my insurance was $229/month! I'm so glad it's gone down so much.

Both have full coverage, including liability up to $2 million, with a $100 deductible for glass replacement, $500 deductible otherwise. But... we have socialistcommunistmarxist public insurance in my province. Edited: DH informs me it is $94/mo. for the 2 vehicles. The extra $30 covers the tractors and equipment when on the road. AngieW in Texas
We pay $141/month for two cars. We only have liability on the 1998 Chevy van. The 2009 Honda Fit has full coverage. Our oldest is still on a learning permit right now, but she will get her license before the year is out. I need to find out what that will do to our insurance. Nestof3
Our 2007 Honda Odyssey costs us $40 every month ($480 a year) for full coverage. Our 19 year old son pays $50 a month for the '89 Ford truck. It will be reduced once they honor his dean's list report. The business truck is on a separate policy. None of us has had incidents in at least the last 10 years. Edited July 25, 2009 by nestof3
creekland
We have full coverage on a 2006 F 150 and a 2003 Windstar as well as a teenaged male driver and hubby had an at fault fender bender this past year killing our safe driver discount. MyThreeSons
$134/ month. 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan, 1995 Dodge Omni. No collision coverage on either. Dh, myself and 19yos -- all with good, but not quite perfect, driving records. Interestingly, I was going to remove dh from our coverage because he no longer drives, but our rates were going to go UP if I did that! Margo out of lurking
This is so timely, as I was checking online today for auto insurance quotes. I thought mine was HIGH: $950 a year for a 99 Dodge Ram, a 2000 Odyssey, and a (brand spankin' new!) 2010 Prius. We have two drivers and have dropped comprehensive on the truck and van, with $1000 deductible, 100/300. Ours is with GEICO. RegGuheet's was good, and since I live in the same state, I tried Erie, but they were a couple hundred dollars more. Dh will be happy (relatively) to hear all of this.
