I was just at Costco today, and they have Kirkland Breakfast Blend K-cups (100) for $38.

Not so embarrassing for me, but for my ds...... My family and I were shopping at Target. We were in the shoe department, and I was a few aisles over from my dh and dc. I hear them talking, and all of a sudden I hear my ds (about 12yo at the time) say, " Mom! Pull your pants up, your showing some crack!" I look around and he is not in the same aisle as me. Sure enough he proceeded to pull this lady's pants up that was crouched over looking at shoes on the bottom shelf. Apparently, she looked similar to me from behind :) Fortunately for him, she just laughed, but he was completely mortified.

I have a kindle and the kindle app on my iPad. All my books that are on my kindle are also on my iPad. :)

I have been using LOE with my 9yo dd for a few weeks. My question is, how long does it take for you to complete a lesson? Do you break the lesson up throughout the week? If so, what does your schedule look like? My dd struggles tremendously with spelling, reading, and writing. I was hoping to go through the curriculum quickly, but that is just not going to be possible. Thanks!

I purchased the full set from Rainbow Resource on 6/15. Before I ordered I sent an email asking about what was included and they mentioned that they didn't have it in the warehouse yet, but as soon as they received it they would be shipping it out. About a week after placing my order, I realized that I never received an email confirmation from RR. I only received a receipt from PayPal. I contacted RR and they apparently did not have record of my order. They ended up finding my PayPal receipt of payment, but they had no idea what I ordered. They put my order in manually and said that as soon as they had it in the warehouse they would ship it out. As of today, they still don't have it in. So, if you are wanting it fairly soon, I recommend ordering directly from LOE. If you do place an order with RR and pay with PayPal make sure you get an email confirmation from RR. Although there have been issues, Rainbow Resource's customer service has been awesome :)

We are currently using Verticy for phonics. It is okay, but just okay. Over the years, we have tried several O-G programs with no huge success. Most of the time I feel like I have failed her in some way and I am the cause of her reading struggles. She seems to understand the particular rule that we are working on at the time, but it all goes all the window when she sits down to read. I have been looking into Logic of English, as well as Barton for next year. I am just hoping that with frequent reading practice and a good solid O-G program, she will eventually have fewer struggles as she gets older.

Okay, this may sound like a really weird question, but first a little background information. My almost 9yo dd has many struggles with reading, writing and language. I believe that she may be dyslexic, but I have not had any formal testing done. She did have a neuro-psych evaluation done at the university and her test scores indicated that she does have some learning issues. She also had her vision checked for tracking issues and everything came back fine. Anyway, back to my question. When my daughter is reading, she is constantly yawning even though I know she is not tired. She does not do this with any other work that she does. Is this a common thing with children that struggle with reading? Or is it just a coincidence that she does it only when reading? Just curious...... Thanks

My family has been following a mostly vegan diet for several years now. When my 17yo dd went to the doctor they recommended that she have a complete blood workup done to make sure she was not deficient in any areas because of how we ate. Her blood work came back completely normal, except her protein came back a little high :).
