Where to order swimsuits online?
almondbutterandjelly replied to Just Kate's topic in The Chat Board
DD21 loves swimwear from Target. She just got a gingham one piece and a blue two piece. And a high waisted black bikini bottom, that can go with any bikini top. She still wears last summer's Target suits as well. We live in a beach town, so owning a ton of swimsuits is a thing. -
If you have covid what did you eat?
almondbutterandjelly replied to Drama Llama's topic in The Chat Board
Mucinex, DayQuil severe, NyQuil severe. Chicken soup, popsicles, yogurt, saltines, bottled water, orange juice. -
My gallbladder has been gone over 20 years, and yes, I can eat fat. In the early years, I use to have to use the bathroom pretty soon afterwards, but that has subsided with time.

About the eczema thing, it is my understanding that people who live with people with eczema should not get the smallpox vaccine, either. FYI. Dh worked for the government around 9/11 and it came up as a possibility, and dd has eczema.

Professional outfit for non-binary college student
almondbutterandjelly replied to Terabith's topic in The Chat Board
My dd has pants from Old Navy in black, navy, and gray. She has a black blazer and a navy blazer from somewhere recommended on here. I want to say Banana Republic Outlet? And black flats. Oh, and the shirt under the blazer is a sleeveless or short sleeve pima cotton shirt from LL Bean. These have served her well in "professional" outfits throughout college. -
Is this sort of vague communication style... normal? Common?
almondbutterandjelly replied to Kanin's topic in The Chat Board
That is exactly how my dd’s teachers spoke, with vague hints, in first and second grade. Drove me crazy. I homeschooled after that. -

Help lowering cholesterol - LDL (DH's)

I love cheese, but dd (my nutrition guru) insists fat and cholesterol are too high and protein too low in all but string cheese. -
Help lowering cholesterol - LDL (DH's)

Oat milk in my coffee. Chicken, turkey, or fish for meat. String cheese for my only cheese. Egg whites. dd just made me a wonderful breakfast for today. It was overnight oats made with chia seeds, ultra protein soy milk, almonds, cherries, and blueberries. Delightful and filling. -
My dh has been rear ended twice. He talked to our insurance company, and they dealt with the other insurance company. The other people/insurance paid for everything, including a rental.

Undo it all. You’re already dreading everything except dd in the church video. They’re going to be upset anyway. It’s your Mother’s Day, too.

Call pest control immediately.

No, that won't work for us. Enjoy yourself!

Prayers needed for my mom (update: passed away)

I have tendonitis in my upper arms. It started last spring and got to where I couldn't move my right arm. Got meds, an ointment, and recommendations to ice at the time. Now it recurs (and in the left arm, too), but not as bad, especially if I catch it. Ice helps A LOT. Since tendonitis is inflammation, ice helps keep that down. And I must ice at any sign of it. My first sign is sort of a "tired" feeling in that area. Then I press on the tendons, and if they hurt when I press on them, I know I need to ice. I don't know if Achilles tendonitis works the same way. I just have to be careful and monitor things.

May I suggest you and dh start touring some Assisted Living places, that also provide more care than that? Like all the way through nursing and memory care? That's what we did. It got the ball rolling. We then toured together with the elders. While they weren't willing to commit yet, the "evaluations" they had as part of that tour did make them admit that they needed more care (they couldn't answer what month or day it was, they had a lot of medical issues, etc.), which allowed us to hire Visiting Angels to come to the house daily. That worked for awhile. Mom eventually died, and Dad is in Assisted Living now (and doing fantastic, by the way). (big hugs) This is so so hard.

Question for college professors (and others)
almondbutterandjelly replied to Innisfree's topic in The College Board
Gently, this seems like dd's problem. The unprepared classmates and ones who don't work hard or struggle... that's typical. Dd needs to get used to this. One thing my dd has done is not to tell people what grades she got, when they are discussing grades. She says, "I did okay." Otherwise she became the class "smart person," and I don't know if your dd is in a competitive science major, but my dd then would have problems with transactional friendships -- people who wanted to be in study groups with her or only talked to her when they needed help. Learn to lay low a bit, while still being very prepared and working hard. -
Please pray for my canary; thank you, Sunny has passed <3

Oh, Mercy, big hugs. Praying for a miracle. -
When my D was borderline low, it really helped me to supplement. I like Nature Made D3 Softgels. My doctor suggested 800IU, but I take higher than that now. My energy is back!

S/O what size house for the empty nest?
almondbutterandjelly replied to teachermom2834's topic in The Chat Board
We downsized from a house to an apartment that has a fitness center, walking trails by the water, lots of green space, lots of trees, a basketball court, two pools, some grills and picnic tables. None of which we are responsible for maintaining, yay! The location is also right off two roads that we use to get everywhere. It's great! Highly recommend apartment living if you are DONE with yard work and house maintenance, like we were.
