  1. I've been checking regularly for an update. Hope you're just enjoying your healthy daughter!
  2. My 9yo boy is asking for a 3D pen. Not sure if they are worth it (I haven't researched yet) but it is one of the few things he wants. We already own most every game mentioned in this thread. Board games are big in our house.
  3. My OB/GYN who delivered my first son was Dr. Beaver. Yup. My second son had Dr. Pillow.
  4. My son loved them in first grade. He loves to color though so he really enjoyed that aspect.
  5. We liked the first episode but haven't had a chance to watch any more yet.
  6. Ditto. I loved Crossfit at our local box. They met everyone where they were physically, worked hard to make sure proper form is used 100% of the time but were extremely motivating. The people there ranged from out of shape/overweight to competitive fitness levels. They also required a beginner's class (6 weeks of learning form) before you could join in with the regular WOD. I wish we could still afford for me to go. BUT the box does make a huge difference in safety and enjoyablity.
  7. I love apples but I'm very picky about them so don't eat them often. My kids, especially the youngest, eats apples almost everyday.
  8. Best gift in the past was a bike. He was totally surprised and actually showed a reaction to a gift which is very unusual for him! I'd like to get him a new grill this year but I'm not sure I'll have enough money. He's difficult to buy for and his birthday is a week before Christmas...argh.
  9. I wouldn't, I'm never a fan of clowns but particularly this year.
  10. Thanksgiving turkey dipped in cool whip.
  11. We do Right Start Math B in first grade. Games plus abacus taught both my boys their math facts.
  12. HOA is one reason we sold our last house. We got a few nasty grams, usually over grass but a few times because we didn't roll our basketball net to the side of our house. Thankfully never reached the point you're having to deal with! We bought instead on a street with acre lots, where most people living here are retired and take excellent care of their homes. So much happier now and our bball net stays in the driveway full time! Hope your situation gets resolved painlessly and quickly.
  13. That stinks. I hate Best Buy. We've always had something go wrong with them so I refuse to shop there. I got a Lenovo desk to at Staples last year. It was a lemon too, wouldn't turn on 90% of the time out when it did once it fell asleep you couldn't wake it for a few days. Staples took one look at it and immediately replaced it. Haven't had an issue with the new one. Definitely find a paper trail if at all possible.
  14. Bring more snacks than you think you'll need! Extra towels. We snap a photo of the results board after each of his races. We are still new at this too.
  15. I do what you do...ground beef, McCormick spicy chili seasoning, beans (I believe in beans in chili!). Instead of crushed tomatoes I do a can of Rotel tomatoes plus a jar of salsa. I usually do all spicy or medium unless my kids are eating it then I bring the spice down a bit.
  16. I prefer open. It doesn't get that cold here.
  17. Yes,I can commiserate! Completely.
  18. We've only ordered one pair from them but we love that pair. I'm planning to order a back up pair from them since my son just got his prescription updated.
  19. 1. My son has had glasses for a year. He broke the pair from the eye doctor 3 times. The first time was a manufacturing defect. The second time he fell off the monkey bars. The third time I don't remember. After that I ordered a different pair from Zenni Optical. He has had that pair for probably 8-9 months and they've been great. He just got new lenses put in them. He doesn't wear them playing in the yard anymore (after the monkey bar incident). They do get scratched despite having a hard case to store them when he's not wearing them. 2. No advice, my son took to them immediately. But he does take them off when reading (his trouble is distance).
  20. Hope the worst is over and someday you can look back and remember this as a blip on the radar. Glad the MRI was done and happy it didn't reveal anything alarming.
  21. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and try it next year for my youngest. He doesn't pick up writing as easily as my oldest has.
