  8. Okay I skimmed so I hope this is not a repeat. Picking times that are less busy. We go after Turkey day and before Christmas. It is considered value however they have all the Christmas decorations up. We also went in October not this past one but the one before and the weather was wonderful also and the crowds were not crazy. In the fall they also have Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It is FANTASTIC. We collected almost 5000 pieces of candy and could have gotten more however we wanted to enjoy the shows, parades and character meets too. Fireworks!!! Anyways, for the party they open from 4 to midnight at the Magic Kingdom and there are less crowds than to go for a regular pass day. Sleep in, get ready and party Disney style. :D
  9. I recall one year as a single parent-no child support from my ex-husband-working two jobs until the engine went up in my car and needing help. I put my son in an Angel Tree program. He had asked for power rangers, a matchbox race car set and kid size tools that really worked. He was picked and the person who picked him included those things-several PR toys and the MB racecar set with several cars. They got him some little tools and a kit to build a birdhouse and a toolbox. They also included PR pjs and slippers!! They included wrapping paper, tags and tape. :) I was crying happy tears. Makes me cry happy tears right now. I had extravagant Christmases as a child. I do like to splurge on holidays, however just not monetarily. When our older kids were younger, we could get the three boys a game system an each of them a game or two. Made it cheaper to split the game system three ways. I recall one year for black Friday we were able to score an xbox and three games for like a hundred or so. They would complain because they felt their sister received more, but she always asked for small things like a jewelry box, a doll, coloring set, etc.
  10. Owl Crate has put out an Owl Crate jr themed on Winter Wonderland. It will include a loved UK book and items pertaining to Santa and Christmas trees, etc. owlcrate.com

Oh, a Halo hoodie and a Halo lunch box, gotten really cheaply from Loot Crate vault. My husband's keychain came from EverythingPrettyShop...they have personalized keychains for dads and granddads. I bought my son the marker set on Amazon. He is crazy for those adult coloring books. :)

  16. I have read this week: The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon. It is a light read-YA, that I received in My Lit Box subscription. I enjoyed It and want to read her novel, Everything, Everything. All The Ugly And Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood. Made me feel a bit squeamish, but an excellent read. The Sound of Gravel by Ruth Wariner. Vassa In The Night by Sarah Porter YA. I LOVED THIS BOOK. It was both magical and macabre. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake. World building was a bit tedious, but what an ending! YA The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury. I have read a few others, but I can't recall their authors and I am too tired and my daughter is asleep to get them-A Short Story of a Brief Marriage-heart breaking, I had to step away from it for a little bit, A Room With No Windows, The Season Of the Witch. I have started on SwingTime by Zadie Smith.
  17. I just started reading The Sound of Gravel this morning and finished it tonight-had surgery on a broken ankle, a plate and nine screws, so I am on bedrest. I totally agree!
  18. I have Bipolar II. I had only ever heard of Bipolar one and while I have mood swings, I do not have mania. I am mainly depressed with moments of hypomania. I take a half of Zoloft. Which helps TREMENDOUSLY with my irritability. I did get a prescription for Lamictal, however I have not taken it. I thought it did not cause weight gain?
