  1. Meg will be working on her math and starting French this summer. She will also be doing literature (which she LOVES) and science (she loves it too). We may be going to Atlanta late summer and she will be involved in horseback riding, guitar lessons and volunteering.
  2. My husband is German and he puts SUGAR IN HIS GRITS!!! :scared: I am from the south...well, Florida. We were married before I found out.
  3. I really don't think that rule applies anymore. I tip my hair stylist 20 percent.
  4. I did take a look and so did my daughter. We prayed it would be vetoed and was very glad when it was. I know plenty of pro-life that feel the same.
  5. Horseback riding, guitar lessons, literature and science on our own and she will take French and math with a tutor. We will make plans with friends and we plan on going to Dollywood and maybe Atlanta.
  6. Sure you can! :D I need to add ceiling fans and light fixtures soon. Also baseboards.
  7. Meghan has a linguistics final to work on and continuing study on her grammar/writing exam. She has a last math test next week and is studying for it. I am helping her with this. Finish laundry, Organize papers on the dining table. Change kitty litter box. Hang pictures in Meg's room! Her new bedroom suite arrived a couple of days ago. Early bday present. :) Make phone calls. Clean bathrooms. Organize pantry. Fresh sheets on beds. Vacuum sectional. Dinner will be marinated steak, baked potatoes, turnip greens, butter beans and honey rolls.
  8. We have Cigna through my DH's work. We pay $276 every other week for health and vision. We have a 4000 deductible and the company puts 750 towards that. Once the deductible is met, they pay 90/10. Once we reach the next amount-I think 8,000? We are covered 100%. My medicine is mostly free. Certain things such as physicals and mammograms are covered 100 percent. We do not have dental. It is 150 a month and does not seem to cover much. Pretty thankful for our insurance.
  9. The abortion debate has come up on various forums and there have been posters that argued that abortion was called for in every instance whether it was a young person that was pregnant or the baby could be born with issues, etc. And yes I am arguing it. It is the truth. Why would I lie? I am PRO-LIFE. If we make abortion illegal there will be MORE DEATHS. I think there are better ways to combat abortion other than making it illegal. Pro-lifers are not anti-choice any more than pro-choice are pro-abortion. I guess we just have to agree to disagree on this issue.
  10. Anti-choice is NOT accurate. There are "pro-choice" that are anything but. They want the only choice to be abortion and that is NOT a choice if that is your only one. There are those that want to use any excuse for an abortion such as a child that is physically and or mentally handicapped or that wish to use it as birth control. The baby does NOT get a choice and the man does NOT get a choice. But yet if the woman chooses to have the baby, the man has to be financially responsible for it and he "should have thought of that" before he had sex. I am pro-life and I also marched in Pensacola for the pro-choice movement when Dr Gunn was shot and killed. I hate abortion but I understand the need for it in this imperfect world. I believe that making abortions illegal would cause more death and I am against that. I would never vote to make abortion illegal. However I do believe there needs to be more education not only with birth control but with teaching young people the responsibilities of an unwanted pregnancy before they need to make such a serious decision and to have better self esteem, etc. No, I do not believe this will eradicate abortion, but it will help lesson the numbers. Hopefully in time we will find more successful ways of preventing unwanted pregnancies scientifically, legally (stricter laws/consequences for rape) too. I am also anti-death penalty with the exception of cases like Ted Bundy (he kept escaping and killing). I think there are better ways and I am sure most people are in the middle so to speak about these issues. I don't believe a majority are either claiming pro-life and killing abortion clinic workers or are pro-choice to the point of wanting abortion to be the only choice. Hopefully I made some sense... :blushing:
  11. Please stop using the term anti-choice, it is just as inflammatory as saying pro-abortion.

Get her room ready for her new furniture this Saturday. Spot shampoo carpet. Pack DH lunches Make spaghetti with salad and garlic bread for dinner. Make several phone calls.
  13. I am looking for one for my daughter too right now. Also a mother daughter devotional. If I find anything, I will post.
  14. I do have a recommendation for a bike shop that a neighbor gave me. I would like to have some knowledge before I go there though. :) I will look into the step through bikes. :)
  15. We had bedbugs this last November. My husband used to do extensive traveling, as in gone about forty plus weeks out of the year. Never a bedbug. We went to Disney and stayed off property, came back and I had the most itchy bug bites ever. Woke up the next morning and I was COVERED with literally hundreds if bites, By the evening, I was covered in itchy burning hives! I am a very pale white. Like redhead with freckles pale and there was practically no pale skin left on my body. Just red angry burning itchy welts which were bleeding from my scratching. I ended up in ER and put on atarax and prednisone. The night we returned home, I did grab our toiletry bag and placed it on my bed. We left our other suitcases in the trunk. I did grab the dirty clothes (in a trash bag) and began washing them in the morning. Two weeks later, I had my bedbug attack. Luckily my daughter who was lying next to me was not touched at all. I started washing everything in hot water and a hot dryer and we had an exterminator come out. It was just over five hundred to have our master bedroom done. We threw away our luggage and kept things sealed in bags. We had to buy a new mattress and tear up the other one. We also bought bed bug mattress covers. It has been about five months and thankfully there are no problems. Best of luck to you.
  16. OMG, I had to buy a mattress after bedbugs and we bought the best one! I will look it up and let you know. :)
  17. So I used to run over a decade ago a couple of miles most days. "Stuff happened" and I am now about thirteen years later, overweight and attempting to recover from two strokes. I also have had posterior tibial tendinitis since late September when I attempted to be a runner again. (My first stroke was May 2014 and I had to learn to re-walk and my daughter and I were going to run a color k5 this May 2016). I had another stroke this December but luckily I got the tpa shot in time. (This stroke to me this time seems more mental damage, the first one more physical). So my orthopedist said in late February that I could either swim or bicycle but not to walk or run, gave me a boot, has me seeing PT (which I stopped seeing due to depression but I am going to make myself start going again in a couple of weeks). I also have orthotics that I need to get. So, once I get my balance down pat and save for a bike, I would like to get one for exercise and to help my mood. Eventually I would like to cycle long distance. But I need to start somewhere... So what is a good bike to start? I have a hilly neighborhood but also a nearby bike trail called Swamp Rabbit Trail. I am also about a size 16/18 and have not ridden a bike in over a decade... Any suggestions? I cant afford an expensive bike at all. Maybe a couple hundred? Thanks!
  18. I have thought about it and I want a bike for my birthday. :)
  19. We are suppose to "celebrate" next weekend. DH is taking half of Thursday off (Meg has her Court of Awards that night :)) and Friday so we can go to Artisphere, so excited! Going to have lunch out and check out the art, buy something special. Saturday he is taking off from his day job and we are having Meg's new first bedroom furniture delivered. Anyways, unknowingly to me, my husband came home (4am in the morning from his second job) with a bouquet of flowers, a Pandora charm for my bracelet, and cards. I have also received texts from my other children and some friends wishing me a happy mother's day. I can't believe I forgot this! On Monday, the lawn care guy (with fifteen years experience in horticulture) is going to make me a path to my front door and plant ferns and hostas on the shady side of my house. The following time in two weeks he will plant perennials in the sunny front of my house and down further in the yard, butterfly bushes.
  20. Well, my birthday was in January and I received Holly Yashi jewelry, which I wanted. We are actually going to celebrate Mother's Day next week although I did get a card from Meg already. :) We are going to Artisphere and out to lunch. I will pick something out most likely from one of the artists. :)
  21. I think calling it a tirade and stating that she said EVERY kid is an exaggeration. I actually lived in a welfare neighborhood many years ago and what she says is accurate. We did not even live in the worst of projects we lived in what was called the "white people" projects. I don't feel that just because she was passionate about what she experienced should be cause to be dismissive of what she has to say.
  22. Beautiful weather, sunny with a slight breeze, I have the windows open and I love the fresh air. Meghan finishing up her paper with IEW. The awesome very low sodium BH turkey and smoked gouda whole wheat sandwich with fresh fruit salad for lunch. Having two dogs and two cats that get along so well is a blessing. Having a full fridge, freezer and pantry. (Just went shopping yesterday to four stores). Cuddle time with the Megster!
  23. The link you posted resonates with me too. I love being an INFJ. :001_wub:
  24. Once in a while I put notes of encouragement in his lunch box. I switch it up putting certain favorites in his lunch too. He works two jobs and goes to college part time, so I make sure to have as many chores and errands done as possible by myself and our daughter. Her schoolwork too. We also let him know we are appreciative of this hard work. We hardly have time together as a family, much less as a couple but it is May and his vacation and personal time starts over so he has over a month of paid time. He is taking the 12th, 13th and 14th off. He will go to Meg's AHG Court of Awards on Thursday, and then Friday and Saturday we will go to Artisphere. He takes summers off from school, so we have family game nights, movies, etc. We will go see my parents in July for a few days and possibly be able to go out to dinner then. When we save up enough hotel points (and hopefully tickets for Christmas from her grandparents ;) ) we may go to Disney World. She figured out she was not to grown for Disney this past October. :p I make plenty of his favorites for dinner, when he needs something clothes or toiletry wise, I will be sure to have it before hand, etc. Father's day, birthday, and Christmas, I try to gift him things he wants... I guess I am not much help. I just try to be thoughtful and caring. He has a Steelers insulated lunch box and does not wear undershirts with his work dress shirts. We like to go downtown a lot, rarely do we go to the mall.
