  1. *smiles* I have a total of six children, three of them boys that are now in their twenties. I homeschooled one of them, my ADHD one. I can recall their energy and physicality for sure. I was glad to be blessed with both boys and girls. :) If I was not recovering from a brain stem stroke, I would gladly add your boys, I am sure they are a delight. Thank you for your input. I worry I will fail her in some way and have a tendency to go overboard.
  2. Hello! I think we are pretty strong with what we have picked for our core subjects as far as textbooks, workbooks, projects, multimedia and field trips go, however I still feel we are wanting in the Art and Music section. Any suggestions? For art we are going to work through Discovering Great Artists. I plan on delving into their biographies and works of art to flesh the material out and we are also going to be doing See The Light Shine Year One Art Classes. We also have started Kelly Kits which come once a month and there will be projects to do in Mystery of History. Music I am not sure about. I do have Classical Music for Dummies. I figured we could go over the orchestra, different styles of instruments, history of music and different composers from various eras/musical styles. She is starting guitar lessons. We also live in an area where we will take her to see the orchestra, ballet, Broadway, etc. She did see Phantom of the Opera this May and absolutely loved rock opera. :) What do you all do for Music and Art? Please and thank you.
  3. I use both. I have my daughter do online and then I have her redo the problems in the workbook. Also if we have an errand/appointment to run she can bring the workbook not her laptop to complete if necessary. Best wishes.
  4. I have lived in Greenville for eleven years and the HSing environment can be and is hostile.
  5. We love Elemental Science too. We are doing Biology for the Grammar Stage for fun and then Chemistry for the Grammar Stage too.I I grabbed the experiment kits, they are convenient. We did their Earth Science/Astronomy last year, got a lot out of it.
  6. We go from quarter to nine to about two thirty. My daughter gets up at 8am and is expected to eat breakfast, brush her teeth and hair, wash her face and hands, change into day clothes. We then begin our school day. We do math first and every day with Friday being a review day. We then do English which consists of spelling/grammar/writing/literature We work on history/geography on MWF and science on T/H We work on Spanish on MWF and Latin on T/H We then do Christian studies two days a week, one day on music (she also is taking guitar lessons), one on art and one on logic. We finish up with memory work. We take two breaks and lunch.
