  1. My daughter read them when she was seven. She liked them a good bit and has a collection. She just shouted from the other room that they are really good! :)
  2. Thank you, OP for the heads up. I would not have wanted my daughter watching such a trashy commercial and yes I said trashy because I have a right to my opinion and that is my opinion. It was and is trashy and I don't want my daughter watching a commercial like that. I did find their commercial where the guy tries to shake the cow while Kellis' "My Milkshake" plays in the background hilarious. Again my opinion. We all have one, sort of like noses. No worries, I am not going to force anyone to agree with my opinion.
  3. Parmesan pork chops, four cheese mashed potatoes, butter beans and broccoli. Peanut butter chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
  4. Emotional Eater then Constant Craver.
  5. Are we suppose to report back on out progress even if we don't go with your exact plan? Car payments current, bills current and the landlord getting half the rest of the deposit. We bought an inexpensive Garmin for me so I will stop being hopelessly lost. My husband was off with paid vacation during the holidays so he put in fulltime hours with his second job. We were even able to go see a movie. :D
  6. My doctor gave the okay for me to get back to the gym, so I start back the third week of January. Looking forward to that! I was doing strength training and cardio, also I was starting to run again. I have been really stressed and binging on sugar and carbs, so I am trying to be more conscious of my eating by keeping an online food journal, drinking lots of water and getting my veggies and fruits in. I also try to have "healthier" versions of things I like to eat. Like instead of a cheeseburger and fries, I will have a veggie burger and small baked potato, instead of hot wings, I will make buffalo pizza with grilled chicken and pita bread, hot sauce onions, some blue cheese and make a healthy side salad, instead of a burrito out, I will make a bean one with some cheese, veggies and sauce at home. I find I have a big problem with eating out too much, cheaply, but not for my health. I know exercising again will help with binging and stress.
  7. I have a leather Coach purse with matching wallet. I have a Dooney and Bourke. I have a Kipling backpack. However the purse I use the most is a crossover Chula canvas bag with an owl pocket change key chain. :)
  8. What do you use for your skin care if anything? I am in my mid forties and my skin is drying. I also have slight rosecea. I do drink a good bit of water but need to work on my sleep. Share please.
  9. yoga pants and a long sleeved tee or a casual blouse, tennis shoes or sandals.
  10. For the month of January, With hubby's second job: Car payments caught up Bills caught up Deposit paid in full (moved in Sept, still owe landlord some deposit, the man is a saint) His small bonus late January One of my doctors paid off. Curriculum for daughter New glasses for me. they have become .75 worse in each eye since my stroke. My birthday is in late January. I would like our gym membership back (doctor just gave her okay, highfive!) I would also like to get a makeover. A good skin care regime, simple yet effective and a good foundation. However that is not a priority. Foodwise, it is just myself, my husband and my daughter. (I say that because we have six kids in total and the rest are grown :p) We eat pretty healthy and inexpensive, but we do eat out too much. Cheap places such as Wendy's (six bucks for daughter and I), places where kids eat free, etc. So I really need to stop that and gain my health back. I am planning on making healthier versions of things we enjoy at home to save money and be more healthy.
  11. okay now I have to google health risks with electric blankets. My daughter and I are both snuggled up under one...she is very thin. I have her wear long pjs, socks, slippers and even her robe to bed.
  12. Well I did it and continue to do it since having a brainstem stroke. Not cancer, no. However I have thought about it since my mammogram came back with issues. I rescheduled for Dec 30th for my ultrasound and other mammogram and will go from there. I have cognitive and neurological issues since the stroke but luckily my daughter is in the fifth grade and self sufficient to a certain extent. Also one of the beauties of homeschooling is the flexibility. She can homeschool at the times that hubby is off work for subjects needing a teacher. We do well even with my struggles, I am thankful for that.
  13. My son stopped by with presents. He gifted me a lovely pair of gloves and a journal.
  14. I would vote for the knitted blanket made of Alpaca fur, personally. ;)
  15. I have not had a makeover for over twenty five years. A Jawbone is a fitness device.
  16. Interesting thread. I won't be doing the same but I do look forward to watching your progress through out the year. We had a horrible year in many ways and DH just obtained a second job. Our goal for the year is to thrive. We plan on getting our bills caught up and ahead. Medical bills paid off and money put away towards our high deductible. Doctor and dentist visits Fridge, freezer, pantry, toiletries and household products stocked up. Saving started back, retirement replenished. School supplies, curriculum, extra curriculars, etc obtained Some "extras" for DH and I-gym membership back, some clothes, a few frivolous items if we can-I would love a jawbone and a makeover (had not had one in about twenty plus years) and my husband would like some hobby stuff (he likes to work on model airplanes and tanks) Maybe, maybe a trip to Atlanta to get away for three or four days and to coincide with American History.
  17. Meghan (11) loved her karoake machine with cds to go with it. Maleficent, which I luckily got for five bucks. Alex sewing kit, flower press, mosaic horse jewelry box Ever After High stuff and a couple of books...a board and a card game-Ogres and Elves and Cardline Animals, fun! Her brother gifted her a scrapbook and card kit, she was so excited. :)
  18. I scored a 19. I would agree with the test.
  19. Oh, I love your word for 2015, may I have that word too? :)
  20. I am very sorry. My mother had a heart attack in January. My father checked with the hospital and we were told that our daughter 11, could visit. We get there and visit her and then when I complain about my mother not getting dinner two days in a row while the whole hall received their meals, with my mother in tears about how hungry she was they decided my daughter was a problem. They moved her to a lower level and my daughter was able to visit with her. She helped her grandmother eat, kept her tucked in like a burrito, lifted her spirits. Prayers for your family.
  21. Expectant. I am expecting it to be a stellar year with lots of good things happening.
  22. The first year of co-op was pretty good or so I thought. I found out shortly after we paid and had started the second year that the "fine Christian folks" spent their time bad mouthing me and my special needs child about how can she (my daughter) make it to a party or to a horseback lesson but not come to co-op. My daughter has multiple birth defects, physical, internal. My daughter misses out on a lot. She has had multiple surgeries and spent the first several Christmases in the hospital, New Years too and birthdays. Last Thanksgiving we spent in the ER because her feeding tube surgical sight came open and the stomach acid was burning her and not allowing the wound to heal. She has missed out on dance, swim team, playdates, field trips, horseback riding and so much more. (Several of these she does not even participate in currently). This year alone she had a severe kidney infection and the antibiotics gave her horrible diarrhea, her tethered spinal cord is back, her hypoparathyroidism is back, and she has other issues. She has constant lab work, surgeries and other issues. But oh my gawd is it a crime for her to make it to a birthday party or something specail. That is not allowed. She must be punished on top of her challenges. Yes, let us know God and make Him known. *eyeroll* I have become some disillusioned with Christians since moving to South Carolina. I am too fat, my husband is too thin, We don't make piles of money and I did not go to Bob Jones University. Constant criticism, constant reasons why we are not good enough for Christians. We do not even attend church anymore, we just became so fed up. I will say there were a few that have been lovely and I appreciate them. My daughter's AHG troop is giving me hope, they are supportive and practice grace in a way I have not experienced in a long time. So obviously NO co-ops for us.
