  1. I just read the news and found another reader very similar to Google Reader called Snarfer. It's free and runs as an independent program as opposed to in-browser one. All my feeds were imported nicely. So far I like it. HTH!
  2. Thank you so much, everyone! My kids loved getting their valentines. :001_wub:

    Hello...

    Welcome back, Aubrey! :hurray:
  4. Finished The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom. Not his best.
  5. Finished "The Hitchhiker's Trilogy (books 1-5). It'll go into the "chunkster" category.
  6. I adore the "Number One Detective Agency" series! :001_wub: Love "The Moonstone"! I think it's time to re-read it. Oh, I didn't know about The Guinea Pig Diaries! I read and enjoyed all of his books. Or so I thought. ^_^
  7. I received Jesus Calling by Sarah Young for Christmas and am really enjoying it. Short and thought provoking. We also read this with kids before bed - it's really good, started a lot meaningful conversations.
  8. If I take time to prepare a bunch of freezer meals and esp. frozen breakfasts (egg burritos, english muffins/eggs/sausage, pacakes, waffles etc), oatmeal packets (pre-measure everything, they just need to add milk and heat), then our budget looks good. They love cereal, but just like PP's said it disappears quickly and they are hungry again soon. Popcorn is great as a snack. We pop it in the microwave in brown paper bag and add the toppings. Try PB2 sprinkled on top if you guys like PB taste. I love Winco bulk section. Spices, couscous, quinoa, nuts.
  9. The Forsyte Saga series is one of my all-time favorites. :001_wub: Finished Life Without Limits: Inspiration for a Ridiculously Good Life Started reading A Good and Perfect Gift: Faith, Expectations, and a Little Girl Named Penny by Amy Julia Becker It was free for Kindle and so far I'm really enjoying it.
  10. Hated reading it in my teen years. Tried to read it again a couple years ago - hated it even more. Oh, well.
  11. It's a process. I have found out that (for me) the bigger the offense is, the longer it will take to forgive. I've listed things I needed to forgive a person, everything no words spared, and then wrote after each thing "I forgive you". I've said it out loud. I've learned not to dwell in the bitter memories, redirecting my thoughts. The final, and the hardest thing I've ever done is to pray for that person. Not in the "Lord, please make this person see how they wronged me and repent" ;) , but really, really pray for them as I would pray for my children. Little by little anger and bitterness changed into sadness, and then all I could feel is an echo of the former feeling.
  12. Finished "For one more day" and "Have a little faith" by Mitch Albom. Great stories and writing, as usual, very "heart-strings-tugging". Started "Life Without Limits: Inspiration For a Ridiculously Good Life" by Nick Vujicic. Here's something about him:
  13. We have THIS on our shower wall and over the shower head caddy, holding small stuff. Hooks on walls and over the door to hang towels. We keep towel amount to a minimum and the wet ones go straight to a designated laundry bin in our bedroom. We keep toothbrushes/paste in the medicine cabinet on the wall. Also, we hung 2 shelves over the toilet and have extra TP rolls, hair stuff in containers etc. Under the sink cabinet is for bath toys only.
  14. Thinking of you, Julie. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  15. Sounds great! Girl (9), girl (7) and boy (3).

    I'm sorry. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  17. New York style chopped salad Southwestern Quinoa Salad with Black Beans, Red Bell Pepper, and Cilantro Kitchen Sink salad
  18. Good Eats with Alton Brown. :o :leaving: Seriously. I only have about 20 minutes in the evening while DH is putting the kids to bed, then he takes over the TV with soccer and football games. More time for reading! :D
  19. Missed the original thread, but sending you :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  20. Me too! I can't sew, but would love to send a square with something written/painted on it. I have fabric paint.
  21. Kirkland brand diapers, wipes, chocolate chips, shredded cheese, butter, milk. Their bread is great and the new chia seed pita pockets are excellent for sandwiches. Roasted chickens. Meat is not the cheapest you can find but it's cheaper and good quality. Olive oil. Rice. Sugar. European style cookies and chocolate. Produce is good, but in huge quantities. It's best to bring a notepad and calculator.
  22. It's a slow start for me. I'm reading Switch: How to Change Things When Change is Hard (really good so far) Beyond Ordinary: When a Good Marriage Isn't Good Enough (I've read their blog a few years ago while going through some rough times - it was a great help.) Raising Financially Confident Kids I really like the Goodreads app. Very handy! I love Vanity Fair! :) Love this!
